Big thanks to Cheesemoose for the hookup from the hunahpu release. Shared with the wife and bro-in-law. Enjoyed thoroughly by all (who all have different beer palettes).
a - poured a solid orange with steady carbonation and a thin white head. beer was clear, but attractive. carbonation and bubbling could be seen long after the pour. no head to speak of.
s - sweet papayas and oranges mixed with hops. nice fruit medley.
t - sticky bittery hops with a papaya undertone. nice fruity flavor that melds nicely with the hops. surprising bitterness to the taste, but not overly so. probably would enjoy the ipa a bit more without the papaya, but an interesting take on the classic ipa.
m - surprisingly bitter but not overly so, i just didn't expect the bitterness, was expecting more fruitiness.
o - overall the papaya is a nice touch in this IPA, but not quite as good as the peach jai alai. the papaya mellows everything out. an interesting take on the ipa...if given the opportunity would probably have a pint of regular jai alai over this beer, but glad i got to try this interesting variation.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a deep orange with minimal head and nice clarity. Moderate lacing left behind. The nose is fruit forward with tropical papaya qualities coming on strong, waves of fruit countered by a decent malt depth. The taste is slightly syrupy with a nice tropical fruit profile that melds well with the sturdy malt backbone. The mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Overall, there is a nice feature of fruit here, but it comes off as being a malt forward IPA which seems a touch counterproductive to its concept.
