Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Poured from a can, dated 09/09/14 into my tulip. Pours a clear golden copperish orange color, thick 2 fingers of tan colored head. Great lacing as the head slowly falls. Has an earthy aroma and maybe some intense tropical fruits. The taste is totally different in a good way. A little tropical fruit when I first sip, but then then white oak really shines thru! The flavor really transforms into this woodsy, vanilla toffee ale that's just fantastic. Very easy to drink, and no noticeable alcohol burn. A damn fine example of a wood aged IPA, one. Of the best I've tasted actually. Cheers!

Very different then regular JA but in it's own, good way. The fruitiness and bitterness is toned down and replaced with notes of oak and vanilla. the hop bitterness is completely lacking, and instead is replaced with a dryness that complements the subtle, complex flavors in the beer. delicious. i would buy as many of these as i possibly could.

Pours orange. Citrus and sweet. Smells lots like the regular Jai Lai. Taste is more fruity though. Still delicious. Backed up with the oak flavor. Takes out some of the bitterness. It still gets you at the very end though. Great take on a great beer. Keeps the original character and adds just enough to make it unique.

Wife's Review: "Starts off good, doesn't end well. Not a taste I want hanging out in my mouth all day."
