Brewed by:

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Poured into a 13 oz Free Will Teku glass. Pours a vibrant orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves tons of lace behind.

Smell is woody, apricot, tangerine, pine, and grapefruit rind.

Taste follows oaky, apricot, tangerine, pine, vanilla, and grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is a good size medium, plenty of life, a tad dry, and drinks easy, but bigger than its ABV.

Overall this is a special beer and thanks to @Ocalafox for sharing, lived up to the hype.

This is what I wrote about Jai Alai original and it stands for the white oak version, too. What's the difference? Different taste. Still drinkable and well balanced? You bet.

It's all about whether you'll drink the beer again. This one I'll grab anytime there's a steak on the table. Super drinkable, well balanced. This is not a hop explosion but who needs a hop explosion all the time? Clean, super drinkable. Who would've think Florida could put out such a good beer?

12 oz can into glass. canned on 05.08.17.

pours an opaque light amber hue. head is frothy and bright white. good looking top for sure. hoppy but balanced. there is a firm malt presence on this one that works well. aroma is hoppy but varied. cant quite put my finger on a singular note. drankable for sure, but not the most delicious IPA on the planet. This thing is a little tired, but not totally against the ropes. Not bad, would like to try super fresh for sure.

COD 5/5/17. Clear amber pour with a touch of garnet. World class head volume, lacing and retention.

Outstanding nose of tangerine, pineapple, hint of zest, mango, orange and a subtle spruce provide the hop influence. Of these, pineapple is the strongest. The base is bready pale malt with a dose of caramel. The oak influence is present, but rather subtle.

The body is heavy medium and approaches creamy in the effervescent finish. The carbonation / body balance is world class. Some ales require a high level of effervescence to aid flavor separation, but not this one. Effervescence is mild and barely reaches prickly in the finish. This results in a slick oily finish.

The flavor profile is quite outstanding. The hop flavors of the nose all appear over a sweet middle that lingers, allowing the tropical hops to shine. It begins with the citrus notes then flows into pineapple and crescendos with mango. Caramel subtly appears as the sweetness fades. Caramel transitions into vanilla. Oak makes its presence known from three quarters of the way through and lingers as tannin in the finish. Bitterness is mild, yet ample.

Pours an effervescent amber with 2 finger of cream colored head. Pretty good head retention & great lacing

S: Mango, pear & vanila

T: Follows the nose, much dryness & some pomelo too up front. Woody bitterness comes through as this warms, nice bready/fruity sweetness to balance it. Finishes with some mango & pomelo & on point white oakyness/dryness

MF: Medium body, firm carbonation, nice balance

Drinks very easy, like as much as the flagship, if not more
