Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Not a fruit forward hop experience. Herbal, grassy and floral. The white oak treatment accentuates these nicely. Perfume and dill noticeable. Hint of peach and grape tannin. An interesting flavor experience.

Pours a crystal clear bronze orange color. Thin off white sudsy head dissipates leaving big soapy white bubbles and some sticky lacing.

Smell has notes of oak, caramel, floral hops, citrus, honey, and, and caramel. Smell is complex but rather subtle.

Taste has notes of strong floral hops, smooth oak, a touch of sweet vanilla, honey, caramel, caramel malts and a nice cracker malt backbone. Grassy bitterness is noted on the back end lingering on the tongue.

Smooth full bodied feel on this yet very drinkable. Medium carbonation. Grassy bitterness is dry on the tongue and coats the mouth.

Overall a really well crafted IPA and the oak aging only makes it better.

Can poured into fluted snifter.

Copper, clear, foamy white head. Bit of lacing. Head settles slowly.

Caramel and toffee with a hint of musty wood. Light hop aroma that floral and citrus.

Crackery, dough, caramel sweetness, oak. Earthy/fruity tinge like old grapes.

Moderate carbonation and high side of medium body.

I prefer the regular, the oak seems to muddy the flavors IMO.

A great take on the oh-so-delicious Jai Alai. The oak notes really help mellow out the beer and add some vanilla and earthy notes to the usual floral and citrusy notes of the traditional Jai Alai. A must try.

Beautiful copper color with half inch white foamy head. Overwhelming smells of grapefruit, pineapple and citrus. Tastes as great as it smells with oak (vanilla), pine (dill) and dry citrus too. Nice moderate carbonation( smoothed out by oak aging). This IPA is delicious and goes down very fast. Even better and slightly more complex than the regular Jai alai due to oak aging. Well balanced heavy malt presence. The citrus really pops in the aromas and flavors. Fantastic flavor, I could drink the whole pack at once if not for the ABV.

Pours clear, tan in color, with one inch head. Taste is peach, muscato grapes, mango, and light oak and cracker. Medium bodied, slightly bitter, smooth, and medium carbonation. Nice change up on regular Jai Alai. Would get this again.

Despite its popularity, I sometimes have trouble finding Jai Alai outside of Florida, so I was pleasantly surprised find this at Bullseye in Smithtown while visiting my parents on Long Island for the holidays. Pours the part with sticky lace and complex citrus, pine, and oak notes in the nose.

Definitely can detect the oak aging throughout the sip. Lemon, grapefruit, mango, and vanilla join the oak in the flavor. This is solid and complex without being too esoteric or exotic. Goes down pretty easy.
