Brewed by:

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Pours a pale amber with moderate haze. 1+ finger cream colored head with decent retention. No too much lacing left behind.

Oak, caramel, and vanilla on the nose. Some floral and earthy hops. Sweet malt.

Caramel, both malty and barrel notes on first sip. Prominent oak. Grapefruit, pine and earthy hop flavors. Vanilla undertones.

Medium body with medium carbonation. Malt and barrel is prominent with lingering caramel and oak in particular.

Interesting twist on regular Jai Alai but the original is better.

Pours a slightly hazy Orange with a thin, white head. Smells of wonderful, candied Citrus hops. Taste follows the nose, and the Oak gives off a smoothing, vanilla and carmel taste. The oakiness brings a slight smokiness. The malt brings this busy IPA together very well. Mouthfeel is full for an IPA. The drink gets more smooth as it warms.

wish i could have put more in my suitcase , it was all over in stores while in Tampa, Pours a mostly clear golden color with an small white head , smells of tropical fruit and citrus with cedar wood , taste follows nose with the addition of spice and herb soft wood lightens the pine bitterness of the regular version, a dry mouth feel with alot of hop taste makes this a superior brew very tasty.

I didn't find this to be drastically different than regular. Dark orange with a much less active head this time around.

Aromas of strong pine sap and light bready malt at first, then it turns lightly dank. This is where the white oak plays a role as I do get some of that dill co-mingling with some pine needles. Not as extreme as a pickle--I've had two other aged IPAs that were just terrible in that regard so I recognize the risk.

Flavors of grapefruit, floral and herbal notes, and maybe orange blossom are rounded out with some oaky vanilla notes that tone down some of the bitterness found in regular.
