All Red Ale subtlety and smoothness overwhelmed by early and late hop override.
Too hoppy for me, but hopheads will probably enjoy this .

Canned November 14th 2017. Pours really dark red amber, massive but manageable head of slow shrinking foam. I get pine, grapefruit, caramel malt in the smell. More bitter than sweet but there's some semblance of balance. Starts off bitter. Pine, resin like, grapefruit citrus, mid palate comes the caramel malt, finishes with both attributes. Slick oily on the tongue, I like the mouthfeel. Very good Red Ale.

12 oz can. Pours hazy red with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, caramel malt and tropical fruit. Body is full and tangy. Citrusy hops dominate the palate with caramel malt and tropical fruit provide support. Finish is long and dry. Great brew.

Solid red ale with exceptional caramel flavors that tread the line of sweet well and meld with the aggressive citrus and floral hopping. Canned on 11/13/17 on bottom of can.

A: Beautiful red-amber with 2-finger medium beige head with decent retention and lacing.

S: Aroma is a little light but does bring some caramel complexity and honeysuckle, somewhat herbal hopping without much yeast character.

T: Flavor is bold with medium and dark caramel maltiness wrapped up with orange and grapefruit citrus, floral, and light woody character. Moderately bitter.

M: Good creamy coating mouthfeel with low-medium carbonation.

O: Tocobaga is a great example of the American amber ale style -- smooth, drinkable, with a solid array of caramel qualities and finished with citrus American "C" hops.

Poured from a 12oz can into a new castle glass.

Look is red with an off white head.

Aroma is roasted malt with a little coffee and bright hops.

Best example of a hoppy red ale I’ve ever had. Malty roasts and hops well balanced.

A bit high in hops for my taste buds regarding a red ale however this one really fit the card for a dark ale. I will say the Tocobaga dark red ale reminded me of a Sierra Nevada, with a different scent as well as hue.

A: The beer is hazy brownish red in color. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and webbing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of caramel and toasted malts with piney hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of caramel malts and notes of piney hops, the latter of which contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and rather crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a very good balance between the malts and hops.
