Oh my, this is not what I was expecting! It's pretty in the glass like a red must be. It has fine head and some lacing. The aroma is pronounced. Roasty and hoppy and somewhat skunky.

The taste is really not what I expected. This is a huge red - hoppy, roasty, bitter and even a little yeasty flavor. It is one of the biggest tasting reds I've had in a while. The aftertaste is bitter and dark.

This is a great introduction to the brewery that the ABC Liquors sales person said was one of the better ones in the region. Highly recommended - a BIG red!

COD 12/11/15. Beautiful dark ruby pour with just a touch of cloudiness. Quite outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention.

Outstanding nose of Florida citrus (lemon, lime, orange), a touch of mango and a very light herbal pine over a solid malt base with caramel notes.

Almost medium body that is quite smooth with a good amount of creaminess and a light oily character. Slightly above normal carbonation level with a bit of middle effervescence and a prickly finish.

A quite outstanding atypical flavor profile that really pushes sweet Florida citrus to the forefront while maintaining a light airiness to it. It begins with a lemon lime blend over a subtle sweetness that is slightly tart. This flows into a very mildly bittered middle with a mango sub note. Caramel makes it strongest showing as the bitterness begins to fade but is quickly replaced with a sub current that has leather and tobacco elements. The finish is a slow fade of orange rind bitterness. Complex and delicious.

12 FL. OZ. can
Served in a tulip glass

This beer pours rust colored with amber highlights. It is topped with three inches of tan head that leaves decent lacing.

The smell is citrus fruit and caramel malt with some toast.

I get citrus flavors with a solid malt backbone.

Medium mouthfeel

This is an enjoyable beverage. It might be a little past its prime, but I had a non BA friend shop for me in Florida, so beggars can't be choosers.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of caramel malts, citrus hops. Taste is the same, well balanced caramel malts and citrus hops, some bread, a touch of sweetness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer worth trying.

A. pours an opaque reddish brown with small chunks of yeast settling. Layers of big fluffy head with good retention and stickiness.

S. Bread dough and malt forward on the nose. Citrus hops, piney and herbal.

T. Piney, resinous, caramel malts, biscuity, yeasty, bread dough. Bit of a chewy mouth feel. Finishes bitter and dry on your palate.

O. Solid red ale with goof balance. Def worth a try.

Notes. Enjoyed while on vacation to lovely lake Mary Florida.

Not a huge IPA girl. Happy to support a local brewery, though!
