Pours a dark reddish amber with moderate head resolving to thin lacing.
Smell is mostly citrus. Grapefruit and a bit of lemon.
Taste is caramel followed by lemon/citrus with a hint of bitter pine in the finish.
A lot of IPA in its DNA.

12oz can into a pint glass. canned 11/13/17, so 5 months old.

reddish brown amber body, slightly cloudy, large creamy cream colored head leaving excellent lacing.

on the nose, there is only a faint malty aroma.

malty, and even after 5 months in the can, there is still a decent hop signature giving the sweetness a bitter wash. 7.2abv is detectable.

mouth is above medium, finish is sweet with a slight bitterness.

overall, this is a tasty amber ale. would be interesting to try one fresh off the line to see if the balance would be as pleasing to this particular palate

Canned 03/02/18...super fresh and super excited to finally try this!

Massively frothy and pillowy head leaving behind a ton of lace (aggressive pour into a 2-cup Pyrex glass...oops?) and a gorgeously dark amber colored liquid. Pleasant nose of sweet malt with plenty of piney and resinous hops to remind you that this is a Red IPA and not just a Red Ale. Flavor is also lots of fresh, fruity hops finished with bready and caramel malt. Body and feel are exceptional. This is a stellar beer. Up there with Nugget Nectar for the style.

P.S. — Review #800!

One of the best beers of all time. You have to go to the factory to find it. So worth it.

All Red Ale subtlety and smoothness overwhelmed by early and late hop override.
Too hoppy for me, but hopheads will probably enjoy this .

Canned November 14th 2017. Pours really dark red amber, massive but manageable head of slow shrinking foam. I get pine, grapefruit, caramel malt in the smell. More bitter than sweet but there's some semblance of balance. Starts off bitter. Pine, resin like, grapefruit citrus, mid palate comes the caramel malt, finishes with both attributes. Slick oily on the tongue, I like the mouthfeel. Very good Red Ale.

12 oz can. Pours hazy red with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, caramel malt and tropical fruit. Body is full and tangy. Citrusy hops dominate the palate with caramel malt and tropical fruit provide support. Finish is long and dry. Great brew.

Solid red ale with exceptional caramel flavors that tread the line of sweet well and meld with the aggressive citrus and floral hopping. Canned on 11/13/17 on bottom of can.

A: Beautiful red-amber with 2-finger medium beige head with decent retention and lacing.

S: Aroma is a little light but does bring some caramel complexity and honeysuckle, somewhat herbal hopping without much yeast character.

T: Flavor is bold with medium and dark caramel maltiness wrapped up with orange and grapefruit citrus, floral, and light woody character. Moderately bitter.

M: Good creamy coating mouthfeel with low-medium carbonation.

O: Tocobaga is a great example of the American amber ale style -- smooth, drinkable, with a solid array of caramel qualities and finished with citrus American "C" hops.
