Very Good
Notes: This saison pours hazy to clear straw in color with notes of honey and tropical fruit. Flavor has tropical fruit with a lemony bitterness and hints of clove in the finish. Sorachi Ace and Citra hops add lots of flavor to this small, sessionable beer.

On tap at the House of Brews, Jensen Beach.

A – Poured out a cloudy golden hue with one finger of stark white fluffy head. Really solid lacing all down the glass.

S – Heavy fruit smell with banana, clove and pear with just a touch of spiciness.

T – More spiciness than expected out of the gate. I get a lot of clove and banana. The floral qualities and tastes run through next. Finished with the funky saison like yeast you would expect. Light sweetness.

M – Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Crisp and dry mouthfeel.

O – Nice tasty saison and a very easy drinker. A solid example of the style. Well done.

Pours a pale yellow with a finger sized off white head that laces well.

Aroma is light tropical fruits with a good dose of spice lots of peppery notes. Nose is not really funky as some Saison's but still nice and refreshing.

Taste is like the nose bready malts with lots of fruity notes. Lots of spice here big on pepper notes mixed with some lemon grass.

Mouthfeel is spot on for style light carbonation is a little mellow but I like that.

Overall not a complex Saison but very thirst quenching and tasty. Would not mind having this on my table every night while its warm out. It would be perfect if it was a little funky but not complaining.

Pours clear and a bright golden with a nice white head 2" high. Dissipates to a thin film leaving no lace.
Smell is wheat, citrus and hops.
Taste is all hefewiesen. Hops, citrus, wheat and a hint of vinegar.
Medium body, medium effervescence. A good brew but really seems less a saison than weisen. Good, but off style in my opinion.

Great saison on a hot day. Rated 5% abv. Wild yeast aromas are yummy. Cloudy yellow with tons of lace, only a little head. Carbonation right there. White pepper and a tad of cayene. Great drinkability, refreshes in the early summer weather.
On tap at the brewery.

look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 4

Appearance: A frothy pale white head forms atop the hazy amber liquid; clumps of lace stick to the side of the glass on the way down

Smell: Pear and floral perfume, with an herbal spice aspect

Taste: After a toffee sweetened start, the floral and pear elements add additional sweetness that is balanced out, by mid-palate, with bitter, herbal undertones; the finish has both the pear fruit and herbal bitter flavors

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with low carbonation; a bit watery

Overall: A bit sweeter than I prefer but still a nice saison, overall; like the low abv but the body does suffer, as a result

Review from notes at World of Beer - Fort Myers on 9/17/11.

Poured on draft into a tulip.

Appearance: Cloudy medium gold with a 3 finger foamy snow why head. Excellent lacing.

Smell: Wine grape hulls with a touch of vinegar.

Taste: Light grains up front followed by a touch of sourness ending with a decent hoppy finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

Drinkability: Good drinkability. The low ABV% means you could drink several of these.

Overall: Pretty good beer overall. It's below the very high standards of Cigar City, in my opinion, but it's still a solid beer. Not my favorite saison by any means, but it's worth a shot.

Had on-tap at CCB tasting room. Poured into a pint glass.

A: Light copper color, fairly clear. Medium head.

A: Belgian yeast aroma, with some apples in the background. Not a bunch of the typical banana aroma though. Overall seems a bit muted.

T: Mildly fruity flavor (bit more banana here) over yeasty belgian flavor. Some more lemon flavor as it warms somewhat.

M: Light bodied and low carbonation.

O: I went into this with high hopes. Honestly, though, it really struck me as a purely average saison. Nothing bad or off-putting, but nothing exceptional. In this area where St. Somewhere brews are available, they need to have brought more to the Table *rim shot*

One of the better saisons I've tried. I ordered it at cigar city in my quart to take home, didn't even try a sample before I did.

poured into a very nice cigar city snifter glass from the growler. poured a very heavenly golden light straw color with BIG bubbles floating up. tiny thin head, not foamy. went away quickly to nothing.

I will tell you exactly what I taste but it will not be specific cause I am not sure what I'm tasting. It tastes like a popular ESB to me. It has a funky bitterness to it but easy to drink! Almost has a nuttiness to it like an octoberfest too. These are the things I taste. mouthfeel is outstanding. alcohol of course is 4% so no hit from there. Not a beer you would gulp down but one you could really enjoy slowly. that bitter aftertaste you get from it, does go away very nicely so you can enjoy your next sip.

Overall, great beer. recommended! try it!

On-tap at Rattle ‘n Hum, New York, NY

A: The beer is hazy pale yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that gradually died down and left some lacing on the surface and a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of lemon and nondescript malts in the nose.
T: The taste has some initial hints of sweetness and is followed by flavors of bready and grainy malts along with lemon from the Sorachi Ace hops.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is some dryness in the finish.
O: This is an average saison but has some interesting properties imparted by the Sorachi Ace hops.

a treat i got to try in tampa, and i have to say their lighter beers impress the hell out of me.

Nice head of three inches or more caps off the top of the glass and falls down effortlessly into a broken and rocky cushion of foam. Light aroma of bananas and pears, hints of light peach and a floral, albeit light hop note to it. Warming brings out a touch of grain that serves to balance it quite nicely. Smooth, elegant flavor. Light notes of fruit, touches of grass and a slight floral flavor all combine quite nicely.

Growler courtesy of markwise, shared at the March iteration of the Santa Cruz tasting series. Pours a dusty bronze color, neither clear nor quite opaque. Aroma is wheaty with pale malts and a nonspecific tart fruitiness. flavor is similar, banana esters recall hefeweizen, while watery maltiness proves somewhat refreshing. Somewhat tart but not crisp on the finish. Drinkable but more wheat/blonde than saison.

A table strength saison in the CCB tasting room brewed on their pilot system. Served in a pint glass, a hazy light amber with small foamy white head that left a few spots of lace on the way down. Smell: decorative soaps, light spicy hops, apricot, a little hay, pils malt. Taste: light pils-y base, relaxed spicy hopping, clove and lemon. Not-unpleasant steely note towards the end of the sip is more a function of feel than taste. Not the most involved saison in their lineup but a tasty session option.

Had this on-tap and from a growler. Given the opportunity to warm up from tap temp it opens up nicely...more hay/grain, less soap.

On tap at the brewery. Poured into a tasting glass.

A: Clear straw yellow color. I would have thought this would be a bit cloudy, but I digress. Small pure white head, nice retention and lace.

A: Belgian yeast, light malts, and small citrus. Absolutly no hint of alcohol.

T: Again, much of the same. Yeasty malts, with a small earthy hop profile. The yeast is distinct and welcomed. Finishes dry.

M: Light body, good carbonation. Pretty crisp and clean.

O: Nice, light session strength saison. One that I would love to have a few of by the pool or the ocean. Skal.
