Poured from a cask at the Cigar City Brewing tasting room in Tampa. The beer was served in a pint glass, and poured an opaque and muddled caramel coloring with a big-bubbled, light head that settles out very quickly. Very muddled and heavy sweet aromas, with slight cranberry tartness, but mostly an overall sweetness. The flavors are chaotic, with slight cinnamon spicing, semi-sweet and tart cranberry, mild tart apple, and a very light hoppiness. Creamy and smooth bodied. The aftertaste is lightly spiced and semisweet from the fruit. The body is a bit watery, despite the creamy and smooth characteristics. Very confusing on the palate. It almost feels like the beer is separating in mouth. The beer does leave a decent lacing on the glass while you drink, though. Finish is only slightly bitter...more sweet, and the tartness puckers a bit at the end. This is a tough one to drink, unless you have a ridiculous sweet tooth, which I used to think I did. Interesting offering, but a bit too 'all over the place' for me.
