750 ml bottle courtesy of MikeLuke23. Thanks Mike. Pours a clear copper with a three finger white head that has good retention and leaves very little lacing on the glass. The aroma is big guava, a bit of funk as well as a little bit of grassiness and little pepper. The initial taste is big guava with a bit of sweetness. Then comes some light funk, pepper, and a slight grassiness. The finish is relatively dry with the guava lingering. Medium body. Heavy carbonation. A bit overcarbonated.

Poured from a bottle into a Colossus goblet.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy amber color with a finger of off white head. The head fades to a nice layer on top of the pour.

Smell: This is a fruity beer, as advertised. The malt is light and crisp. Lots of guava.

Taste: There is a ton of fruit but it's not a super sweet beer. The malt is crisp and bready, and there is hardly any alcohol showing up. The fruit is dominating anything else that might be going on.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with very smooth carbonation and a slightly dry finish.

Overall: I enjoyed this beer, but the fruit doesn't really allow for anything else to show up. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I need another.

Thanks to moose3285 for this bottle, nestled among the 436 lb. box that landed on my doorstep. This better be good enough to relieve the aching in my back from power lifting that thing into the house...750ML standard-issue Cigar City bottle split into two glasses.

Pour is roid-rage, jiggly head rising rapidly about the brew, falling back only when threatened. Nose is hugely lemon, very tart, guava rising, too.

Guava Groove is a little "wine coolery" per my lovely wife; & carbonated to within an inch of my life. Fizzy. Many guava were clearly harmed in the making of this beer & it's the dominant predator in the food chain. Other than that there's fizz. Fizz. More fizz. Tiny touch of a tart edge, lemon zest, light sweetness. The finish is clean as Irish Spring. Drinkable though, this could be sold under the Bartles & James label.

Overall, pretty good beer, but the carbonation needs to be subjected to a good whip & chair. Easy drinking summer beer that makes me think I should be out in the hammock.

A: Pours a slightly hazy brownish orange color. Forms an extra large, big bubbled, white head. Decent retention, but only the faintest bit of lacing.

S: The aroma is sweet with a noticeable floral quality. Guava and lemon pepper dominate.

T: Unsurprisingly the dominant flavor is of guava. Moderately sweet with a slight unripe fruit tanginess. There is a little pepper and spice on the finish, but it's really quite faint.

M: Light bodied with heavy carbonation and a smooth sweetness. Overcarbonated, really.

O: A pretty good, drinkable beer, though, considering how good Gauva Grove is, I'll admit I was expecting a bit more from this one. Quite one dimensional with the flavor and scent of guava dominating over everything. However, I can't say this beer didn't warn me - it was quite evident this one was going to be a guava-bomb from the get-go.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a tulip.

A: Pours a hazy light amber color with a massive rocky white head. Moderate amounts of retention and minimal lacing.

S: Smells of some light funk, earthy and tropical citrus.

T: Close to the nose, moderate amounts of funk with some earthiness and some tropical citrus lingering about.

M: Medium body, tons of carbonation.

O: I'm not quite sure what to make of this. It smells decent but I get no guava flavor at all, just that typical sasion light funkiness. I'll update the review if it gets better as it warms.

750ml bottle shared at a recent tasting. It poured a murky, dark orange color with a modest but fizzy head to it.

The aroma shows a lot of the fruity guava to it. I get a little bit of an herbal, slightly peppery flavor to it mixing with some juicy citrus flavors.

The taste mixes a bright citrus flavor with the guava fruit. I get a little bit of the herbal flavors coming out in the finish as well. The fruit was pretty nice in it, it definitely wasn't subtle though.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with carbonation being high and fizzy. Overall it was a pretty good beer. The fruit was a little dominating at times, but also pretty tasty and interesting. decently drinkable as well.
