Style: Märzen / Oktoberfest

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%

Notes / Commercial Description:
This festive lager is our tribute to Duke Wilhelm IV's marriage hundreds of years ago, which inspired the production of the first Oktoberfest. Malty up front with notes of sweet toasted bread and a light floral bitterness. Balanced, traditional and incredibly drinkable.

Poured from tap into pint at tap42 in ft Lauderdale. Honey amber pour with no head. Smell is big malts and some light dried fruit....smell is exactly like magic hat #9.
Taste is super malty but some dried fruit and brown sugar notes....again very similar to the maltiness of #9. Its easy to drink, nice flavor and prob my last oktoberfest of the year...good not great.

Copper colored with excellent clarity. There's just a trace of off white present on top. I smell sweet malt, but I would say this is a bit one dimensional. I'm tasting sweet bready malt with just the suggestion of hop bitterness. The mouth is very smooth and quaffable.

From fresh can into HB mug. If i had to do a blind taste test with traditional German Marzen's, this would probably hold up to most of them. Spot on CCB!

12 oz. can poured into a Teku. That's right. A lager into a Teku.

Appearance - Clear deep amber body. Nice off-white head and a medium collar with a few wisps on the surface.

Smell - Bready and caramel malt. Very floral, too. Smells sweet.

Taste - Very bready up front. A bit of caramel sweetness in the middle. It gets amplified by that floral and kinda fruity flavor in the back end. Makes it seem sweeter.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Very drinkable. Well carbonated.

Overall - I don't like that floral and fruity back end. Tastes great up front, but that part doesn't seem to work with the rest of the beer.

Poured from a 12 oz can, into a Cigar City pint glass.

Thin white head that dissolved quickly.Beautiful cascade with big fat bubbles on the pour. The color is a light copper tint with nice clarity through the glass.I can actually see my fingerprints through the other side of the glass.

On the nose I get bread and malts, with an earthy background.I'm also getting a sweetness that I cannot identify...cinnamon maybe?

On the palate I get malts, what almost tastes like caramel.Maybe some sweet bread.Again I'm getting some earthy notes as well.A little bit of a floral nectar flavor to it also.

The body is medium, with moderate carbonation on the tongue.Nice smooth, wet finish.

Over all this is a nice beer. The style isn't exactly my cup of tea,but still a pretty enjoyable brew.I could definitely see myself drinking this one once or twice a year, during the holidays.

nice light orange amber with a good looking two inch plus head on the top. Amble carbonation was kept alive throughout which really gave it great retention and helped to keep the lively look of it going.

earthen malted grans. Lots of cereal and spice with almost what smelled like a touch of pumpkin. I dont know if it was really strong enough to be a major competitor in the overall scheme of things light and refreshing. Naturally the biggest player here would be roasted malts and yeast. Nice little floral taste in the finish, which was also quite dry, I have to say a lot drier then I thought it would be fore sure. A nice drinker that went really well with dinner.
