Review from notes at Cigar City's taproom on 9/9/11 for Firkin Friday.

Cask poured into a CCB snifter.

Appearance: Poured a dark caramel color with almost no head and zero lacing.

Smell: Huge pumpkin pie aroma with a nice toasted nuttiness and a touch of alcohol. Smells better than any pumpkin ale I've ever had.

Taste: Toasted nuts up front followed by a ton of sweet pumpkin spices in the middle before ending with light hops at the finish. Aftertaste of pumpkin spices.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with zero carbonation. Pour was also a little warmer than I would have preferred.

Drinkability: Good drinkability. Goes down smooth.

Overall: Good beer overall. I would put this on par with the original Guava Grove. Definitely worth trying if you get a chance.
