Rusty red color, with a razor thin head. Smell is a bit of caramel with wheat and a touch of malt and grapes. Taste is a little tart and winey with a dry bready malt finish. Feel is light with medium carbonation. This one is a little odd. I'm not sure what they were going for, or if they pulled it off. It's not bad, but it's just not as compelling as their stuff usually is.

Hmmm. Something seems amiss here.

The nose initially struck me as having a very Flanders tone to it. I figured maybe that was just something that was there for the start and it would fade. The flavor profile follows suit in very much the same fashion though. Tart and fruity wood is definitely showing here, in a lasting fashion.

I doubt that what I got here was the intended outcome (will do some research to find out precisely), but what I got, I liked. If the beer is supposed to be like this, it'd be an instant hit for me and I'd be going to get more.

12oz bottle poured into pint glass

Deep burnt red pour with caramel tones and a frothy beige head resting on top. Decent retention, leaving some patchy lacing on the glass while consuming.

Bready, sweet and toasty in the nose with caramel and soft sugary notes. Malty with a soft hop flair and bread crust.

Malted sweetness with lurking hops underneath. Bread crust, caramel and burnt sugar followed by some soft fruity esters. Thicker malt backbone, toasted grain and medium sweetness level. Finishes crisp and quick.

Medium body, well carbonated, chewy and sticky on the tongue. Slightly above average amber ale, nothing more, nothing less. I kind of expect more from Cigar City at this point though.

Tampa Bay Brew Bus Rollin Dirty Red Ale has a medium, cream-colored head, a hazy, red-brown appearance, some streaming bubbles, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, brown bread crust, and the flavor is similar, with a nice and measured hop bitterness from the middle-to-end of the sip. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Tampa Bay Brew Bus Rollin Dirty Red Ale finishes mostly dry, smooth, mellow, interesting, and delicious. Overall, this is a really enjoyable beer. I’m glad I was able to try it.
