Draft at Cigar City during Hunahpu Day 2012.

Pours pitch black and completely opaque with a two finger beige head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic streaks of soapy lacing left behind.

Intense aroma with lots of sweet and roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruit and booze. Slightly smokey with hints of dark and milk chocolate along with caramel, toffee, oatmeal, vanilla and coffee bean.

Full bodied with a rush of sweet chocolate, caramel, fudge, chocolate cake and molasses that's slowly countered by darker roasted malt notes. Intensely sweet but as it warms the more robust, dark malt notes appear with hints of toast, dark chocolate, oatmeal, coffee bean and subtle smoke. There's also a good amount of booze and warmth in the finish but the ABV is decently masked at 12%. Interesting but a bit too sweet and boozy for me even after warming up considerably. Not bad but a bit overwhelming making it difficult to drink a whole glass.
