Based on the very strong smell of maple syrup, I had high expectations for a thick mapley beer. It turned out to be pretty thin, enough so that the body didn't sustain the advertised choc chip pancake flavor. It basically tasted like pancakes but vanishes so fast that the overall impression is not very sweet or flavorful in any way, personally I prefer the regular Maduro brown ale to this. I had this on draft at a "tap takeover" next to several of Cigar City's other weirdo flavored beers and it was the weakest.

Reddish brown with a thin, light tan head.
Sweet chocolate chip and sticky maple syrup aromas.
Syrup! Chocolate chips! Butter even!
This tastes exactly as advertised, to the point that I'm a little scared to know how they did this!
