Served on tap the the bewpub, 11/3

Ccb la rubia. Color is a nice Medium copper. Some foam sticks. Very Floral nose. Scented. Firm hop grinds throughout. Lighter malt loses out. Pine taste. Scrapes. Light and bitter at once. Interesting for sure. 375 425 375 35 375

Sample # 4 at the brewpub 1/29/14

Definitely something more than blonde in color, this light brew is a clear and bright gold. A strong, sticky off-white head leaves big lace clinging thickly to the walls of the glass. In the sample glass, the substantive chunkiness of it could hardly be contained until the beer was near the bottom.
The nose has lots of pale malts with the biggest note being a crackery one so strong I can almost bite it. It's also extremely herbal. It actually reminds me of a very (unoffensively) pungent weed that used to grow on lawns where I grew up, sort of earthy and green with a spiciness to it.
The flavor holds a nice and surprisingly firm floral bitterness. There's also a whole lot of herb on the tongue, as much as in the nose. Malts still hold it down tight, nice and dry but with a certain hoppy juiciness underlying. Herb and dryness make it a hint medicinal, but not overly.
Certainly dry but not uneasily so, this beer has a light and bright body that's very clean. Without compromising crispness, it's also surprisingly smooth. It's actually smoother than many beers that are intended to be smoother according to style, but somehow neither the crisp bite nor the airy, bubbly lightness are given up for it. Impressive, really.

Draft, 4 oz sampler glass

Dark blonde to gold and foamy. Very spicy from the yeast, hop aroma and flavors are flowers and fresh dirt. Not in love with it, but respect it for being interesting.

On draft at the brewpub. Pours clear golden with creamy small white head. Pear, green apple and yeast aroma with slight bit of tropical hops. Flavor is raw hop and pineapple, with some lingering bitter and sour apple. Easy drinking and light, with medium high carbonation. Funky bitter raw hop left on palate, slightly unpleasant. Drying finish. Not bad.
