Style: American Double / Imperial Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 11.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Traditional Caffè Americano is made by adding water to espresso. We break all the rules with this Double Stout. We refuse to add water to our beer after fermentation, but have no issues adding beer to our espresso. This deep, dark stout exhibits rich espresso and coffee notes, which are contributed by the generous use of roasted barley and espresso locally roasted by Buddy Brew Coffee. That simply is not enough for us. We also add roasted, raw chocolate and a hint of vanilla to this big bodied stout. Dodge the red eye and take a shot of the dark.

2015 vintage consumed on July 26th, so at 1 year old. Pour dark and had a nice coffee aroma. The coffee taste had faded a good bit and was probably better fresh.

I been a fan of cigar city products for a long time and I have to say, this is one of the best beers I've ever had. This beer is so complex and only gets better as it warms. Can't wait to try it again

AmaZing beer with loads of coffee and espresso flavors. Super balanced and smooth. Creamy taste and feel with a roasty and bold coffee flavor and finish.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown creamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice floral coffee notes with some chocolate and vanilla notes is quite exquisite. Taste is a nice mix of floral coffee notes with some chocolate and vanilla, light roasted malt with some residual sugar also discernable. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. This si a great stout and probably better than the barrel-aged version.
