This year hunahpu's day event cost 200 for a 6 hour event which I thought was obscene price but as I worked the event as a volunteer as the 2nd shift gate captain and was shocked at the number of people who were will to shell out 200 in cash to get
in fact the 2000 ticket to the event sold out in 30 minutes.
and I did work also after my shift at the exit gate and ever saw so many happy people giving great praise to the event as there were 80 microbrewery's there from north America

I went during the Barrel Aged Hunaphu release with a buddy of mine. Even though it was like a mosh pit at a concert when the lines formed I had a blast. The people who work there were very cool and knowledgeable. They had about twenty plus beers on tap so the selection was great. I had a tiramisu which was phenomenal! I also sampled a Black Whole, Nielsbohrium and a Lychee sour. All were great brews. Of course there were plenty of glasses, shirts, hats, etc. to purchase. I would have bought some but I spent all my money on Barrel Aged Hunaphu and Barrel Aged Big Sound. All the brews I had were A+ and only $5 or $6. Plus I met some cool people there. Very highly recommended to ANY person who like beer. Cheers!

A true beer destination all on it's own. They are growing, and in a good way. Expanding their production facility, canning, adding more barrel aged beers to their line up, adding new treatments to already great beers. Wow.
We spent 5 out of our 9 nights in the Tampa area at CCB. Each of which held great surprises. The first night we pulled up, we were amazed by the size of the facility. I guess they just bought a good portion of the buildings around them, and expanded the tap room...literally weeks before we arrived. I never would have known had I not asked. The initial room that you walk into (which used to be THE brew pub) is now the "growler bar". They have ten or so taps in the growler bar that you can fill 32 oz. or 128 oz. growlers, and enjoy a pint. Great idea...stops congestion at the other bar, and they sometimes slip different beers onto the growler bar without posting them on the screen in the main pub.

After walking thru the growler room/store front area, the back bar opens up into a long room with a shuffle board table on one side (awesome, love this classic game), and a long 15-20 seat bar with 8 to 10 tables varying in sizes through the area.
It's an impressive bar, really. 40 taps, with a huge 50 inch TV above with an easy to read, update the second tap list. Boom, as soon as something new is put it, it's added to the tap list on the computer, a quick refresh, and it's listed. Name, style, abv, size pour, price. How awesome is that?
Jake was behind the bar the first night, and I could tell he wasn't really a bartender, but we started talking with him, and he was a really nice guy. As it turns out, he does all the treatments for the beer...I find this out as I'm drinking White Oak Jai Alai and it was wonderful, so I made sure I gave him his due praise by going out to my hoopde and grabbing a Dark Horse BA Plead the 5th.
Over the course of the next five nights, we were able to join at least one or two, sometimes more new brews each night, each of which were great beers. I think my least favorite was a raspberry lager, but still enjoyed it more than many beers I had on my journey.
I know CCB hasn't been around long, but the overall quality of the beer they are producing, their brewing facility, their brew pub, and the general feel and atmosphere of this place puts it in the upper echelon of breweries I have visited including Founders, Three Floyds, and Bells. I can only see great things coming to them. If anyone from CCB is reading this review, thank you so much for the great times we shared there, Kelly and I will be back, hopefully soon! And thanks for letting us crash in your parking lot, weee!

I can't stay away from this place. Any time I am in the Tampa area I stop into the tasting room and have to have at least one of their great brews. Since the remodel the tasting room is even more inviting. With a great environment and even better beer it is a must see when in the Tampa area. I have not yet had the chance but 2014's Hunahpus Day is calling my name.

I feel Cigar City is like a Mecca for the craft beer world. You gotta go if you haven't been. It's just a really classic, cool brewery serving up amazing beer. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Pretty open, two different bars, all kinds of growler options + crowler can option for shipping one-offs. Dog-friendly, pretty nonchalant staff, friendly regulars, smooth bottle releases for as big as the armies are at the front door.

One of my favorite breweries in the world and its near my hometown. I had a great visit coming back home for xmas. No food, but there is plenty of great places to eat before you come on dale mabry. Bartenders are very knowledgable and eveyone that works there is into craft beer and knows the CC products well. Tours can be arranged or a non formal one can be requested if the bartender feels comfortable. Its a small place, but well done, and really clean. They have guesst taps of other florida brews like st somewhere, swamphead etc... Lots of sesonals to try as well as regulars and you can buy bottles/packs or fill growlers. I have a feeling I'll make a visit anytime Im anywhere near Tampa.

My second time visiting and will make a point to come more often. They have expanded the tasting room since my last visit which makes things much less crowded and cramped. Front bar selection was impressive, back bar selection was amazing. Orange Tangerine Ale, Dark Saison and now even Cider.

Tour was a lot of fun and informative. Guide was very nice, patient and knowledgeable. Even got to sample Tony Janus straight from fermenter "just awesome".

Atmosphere was fun, friendly and relaxed.

What can you say about the selection. Barrel Aged Big Sound, Rollin' Dirty, Cider, Itsa Pale Ale. Just to many too list. Highlight, a white oak barrel aged with vanilla beans irish amber on nitro tap called "Hornswoggled". Cannot say enough about this beer. Taste of bourbon without the alcohol burn, toffee, vanilla and just an amazingly creamy sweet body.

On top of all this, the brewery is conveniently located and extremely easy to get to. Just off of 275. Cannot wait to go back.

The selection at this location is top notch...a lot of brews that they've experimented. Check out the site for the updated draft list. You can also get growlers filled to-go along with swag. The bartenders are super nice and helpful. I would suggest if you are in the area or thinking of coming this place is a MUST!

I absolutely love this place! If you are ever in the Tampa Bay area and enjoy great beer, do yourself a favor and pay these guys a visit. Inviting atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and they hook it up with "green beer samples... I was a little tipsy by the end of the tour.

Great place, great beer.

They recently added a food corner... which was the only thing missing from being perfect. Its not a restaurant, so the food isn't 5 star gourmet, but for a place that is all about the beer, this is a great added value.

The beers rotate very quickly, so you have to pay attention online if you are hoping to find a specific beer, but all the seasonals and regulars are available on tap, and usually in bottles/cans in their fridge.

Jai alai is one of the best IPA's available anywhere, but its limited distribution probably limits its reviews. White Oak and Humidor versions are phenomenal.

Some of the combinations they come up with are mindblowing, and that are just the rotational kegs, nevermind the special releases.

Which brings us to Marshal Zhukov RIS, Hunahpu and all its BA variants. This place just knows how to make mind blowing stouts. Even the Patio Tools dry stout and the cognac sweet stout... everything they do is incredible.

I am so happy to live within 30 miles of the brewery and work within 10. Wish i lived closer... but not complaining!

I'll put this simply: I wish I lived closer to Cigar City.

The Atmosphere is top-notch. There's a bar up front to sit at where I've seen some bottle shares going down, and that's where you can order growlers and pay for your beer. This then opens up in the back to the main bar where they have their tapped offerings with a decent amount of seating.

The Quality is perfect. It's a clean, comfortable bar area serving world-class beer.

The Service has always been fantastic. I was able to talk to one of their bartenders for a good 10 minutes when I was learning about their beers and their release schedule because it was a non-crowded Sunday afternoon. He was very knowledgeable and helped recommend some tapped beers that I really enjoyed.

The Selection is incredible. They normally have 20+ beers on tap that includes their regular lines, occasionally some special brews, and they normally have a couple one-off batches as well, for example the Pineapple Right-Side Up Lager the last time I was there. They also have some glasses and other swag.

They don't serve food, but often on the weekends they'll have a food truck. They had a burger food truck outside the first time I went, and it was delicious.

I luckily took a job in Sarasota recently, so I get to visit here a couple times a year now. I'll be sure to visit every single time I'm in town. This is the quintessential example of what a brewpub should be.

First visit to the brewery, was very impressed with the way I was treated by the staff.

Great atmosphere, I was impressed by the current what's on tap display.

Took the tour, was very impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of our guide.

Sampled several unique beers that could not be found outside of the tasting room.

It was well worth the trip, looking forward to my next visit.

Have enjoyed every beer from Cigar City since my visit, highly recommend trying them.

Great bers at great prices. You can try any of their beers before you commit to it and everyone there has always been extremely friendly and good natured.

The best part is that you can bring in a cooler full of beer and share it, drink it, have tastings, do whatever you want and everyone there is totally cool about it! Feel free to take a walk through the actual brewing area and the guys working there are cool and accomodating!

Beware, no food is served here though, so eat beforehand or plan on taking a break for food.

Me and a friend of mine went here after much procrastinating and wished we would have sooner. Mostly when I found out Joey Redner and Wayne started this brewery up and knowing they appreciate beer greatly I KNEW this was going to be the place to go for aweome locally brewed beer.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon about 1:30pm, good time, lots of people coming in and doing their sample trays and really putting the barkeep busy!! He was running out of those little glasses and trays haha! He served though. very well. We opted for snifter glasses of something the brewery had on tap. We got their pumpkin beer, not sure what it was called and their russian imperial stout and took home 2 quarts of the oatmeal raisin. Lots of folks running in getting quarts and gallons in nice glass containers the brewery stocks.

I highly recommend going here and checking it out. The tasting room is a very nice quaint well lit bar with very good beer! I'm proud to say that I'm from Tampa moreso now that we have some great guys making excellent beer!! Thanks Joey and Wayne!

Went for a brewery tour in April 2012. The place is very clean and all the employees are nice and have a fun, laid back attitude. The brewpub is small but there's cool stuff to look at like lights made out of beer bottles and quotes about beer on the walls. All of their awards are lined up at the end of the bar. Service was quick and bartenders were very knowledgeable about the beers. I tried a few beers while I was there and they were all very tasty. There's also a small gift shop and beer is available to-go including growler fillups at a great price. I am going back for sure.

This place is magical I can't say enough about the CCB team, everyone is so friendly and people are always having a blast there. CCB would have gotten perfect score if they had food on location but the awesome food truck get the job done. The tap room has a ton of beers available on tap and plenty of bottles to purchase as well. The tour is awesome, super clean facility with hard working folks making some of the best beer i have ever tried. I admire their brand it's very true to Tampa and very true to Florida, as a floridian this makes me very proud, Thanks Cigar City for giving us floridians one more reason to brag about our state.

I went to this location on a trip to Tamp for the holidays with my wife. It was a very nice place just off a main street in a large wear house. the selection of beers at CCB is really surprising, they have things that I have never heard of before at the brewery and I love that when it happens. I tried a bunch of different beers as a sampler then went and did the tour of the brewery.

The tour was $5 a person but included a beer, thats a fair deal in my opinion for sure. The tour was great, it was buy an older guy who knew the brewery pretty well. It wasn't that informative as we didn't really go through the brewing process but he talked a lot about all of the ingredients. All of the things that I wanted to see he took me over to and explained. being a hombrewer I might have been obnoxious to him because I had to keep asking questions but he handled it really well.

we met a really cool couple there who played shuffleboard with us. It seemed like there were a lot of good people there. There was no food in the brewery but there was a good food truck outside. In general it was a great place with a lot of really awesome beers. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Review from visit in February 2013

Atmosphere- Very laid back and relaxing atmosphere. Not overly crowded, brewery has a very good layout, giant hand table shuffle board against one wall, A bar that could fit close to 20 people, camera views above the bar of their bottling line and the beers in the process of being brewed.

Quality/selection- Talk about a great selection, this place has around 20 or more beers on tap most of which I have never heard of. They had a bluberry muffin beer, a maple porter which tasted liked pancakes with maple syrup and even smelled like breakfast. Ghost stories braggot was good, had a sour with guava that was really unique and flavorful. Also tried Maduro Brown, Jai Ali, and Tocobaga Red all of which were phenomenal! Great selection with amazing quality, a combination that is greatly appreciated.

Service- The bartender that I talked to was very friendly and was able to answer all of my questions. He was well informed on every beer that they had to offer on tap and even offered me a few free samples before I decided on a pint.

Overall, this was one of the best brewery experiences my wife or I have ever had. Well worth the trip, if you are in Florida you have to visit this brewery. Top to bottom a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to go back.

Drove up from palm beach gardens for the nielbohrium release. I couldn't belive how small cigar city was, the place puts out so many amazing beers i figured it would be at least double the size that it is. Lots of great beers on tap, they have most available for growler fills, and of course they will let you try everything before order a glass, something not all places do anymore. Even have local guest taps, which i like to help promote the even smaller breweries. Nice guided tour and pretty good bottle selection, hey it was the only place to get their brewery only release beers in bottle as well. Next time will be bringing a few friends up with me to enjoy some tasty brews!

The Mecca of beer in Florida. It's a must whether you like them or not. There are so many styles on the boards, it is mind boggling. Add to that several guest taps and you are rocking. You could spend the whole day there easy, no problem. Best thing, you are drinking quality beers. One of the best breweries in the country for sure. No need to expand on this.

The brewery is located in a warehouse behind the Home Depot. There are now two bars. A growler bar and a larger bar in the back. Both have excellent selections. Best part of the brewery, other than the beer, is the pinball machine. Go there, have fun, and take a tour.

Great place, the expansion made it even better. It seems that they have new and different beers everytime i go with variations of their popular beers which are more often than not better than the original. The only thing it needs is some more/better outside seating, other than that it's perfect.
