Belgian Beer Fest Lucky Baldwin's, Pasadena Calif.

Poured a light red color into glass. Had the look of Framboise as I glazed into the glass. The smell was very fruity. Kool-Aid like smell. The taste was very fruity. Like fruit juice with beer taste. Nice mellow mouthfeel. The drinkability was very good. This was a beer you could drink all night and not feel to buzz off. Overall, this beer took me by surprise. Didn't expect it would be this good. First sip was like wow! This is what I would drink after having a quadruple beer. Very nice!

On tap at Max's today.

The beer pours an amber peach color with really pretty damn good head retention and lacing. This beer really looks pretty impressive. The nose on this beer is likewise impressive, with a huge nose of sweet strawberry and honey. If you like strawberries, the aroma on this beer is nothing short of amazing. On the palate, this beer is likewise amazing. Yes, it's pretty sweet, but the amount of strawberry flavor the brewer managed to get in this beer is incredible. The beer has sort of a honey, strawberry, strawberry tea flavor. It's fairly sweet, but the sweetness plays well with the flavor profile IMHO. Moutfeel is fairly light, but that's what I would expect with a beer having this abv. Drinkability is exceptional. Granted, it's hard to think of this as a beer, but whatever you want to call it, it's delicious.

I don't know. I really don't understand the low scores with this beer. I guess it's a bit sweet and fruity, but there is so much flavor and the strawberry flavor is so pure. Granted, I wouldn't want it all the time, but I'd order it from time to time. This beer is flat out delicious.

Sampled on 1/17/15. Comes in a 330ml (11.2 ounce) bottle. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a 10 ounce pilsner glass.

Pours a hazy reddish-burnt orange in color with really no cap to speak of. As for lacing, just some very spotty places seen on the sides of the glass but not a lot. The aroma is full of fresh strawberries and that is about it. Great aroma actually! Even more so than a Redd's Strawberry Ale. The taste is well...full of strawberries with some grains. Tasted like fresh strawberries and not artificial. Finishes just slightly tart and not super sweet like you might think. Considered a beer, but whatever it is, it is tasty with a little 'kick'. Overall, really surprised how good this one is and is really refreshing also. Good anytime of the year and will buy it again. Lighter+ to medium bodied with perfect carbonation.

Saw this at Austin Liquors and figured I would give it a try. Pleasantly surprised at this one. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a nice cloudy rosey pink that looks like a glass of well, strawberry juice. Very little head on the pour with a super faint white halo around the brew.

S - Wow, this smells like well, strawberry jam. Not artificial at all very real smelling. Nice jam sweetness.

T - Not really sure how a strawberry beer can get better. I mean, if you're buying this you are looking for strawberry flavour and thats what this beer is full of. Tastes like a glass of melted strawberry jam. Its sweet, but not cloyingly so.

M - Would like a little more carbonation with this. Its somewhat low and is just a hair above syrupy.

D - Wow. This stuff is great. You get EXACTLY what you pay for. Oh? You want a strawberry beer? Okay, here you go, liquid strawberries at 4.1%. Wish more beers lived up their promises like this one.

Poured into a pokal.

The body is pink and hazy. Like the colour of berry punch. There's a solid two fingers of cotton candy head floating over top of it. The head is moderately well retained, and the walls of my glass are covered in sticky lace left behind as it recedes.

It smells like strawberries and sugar. Candy. It smells slightly tart. The strawberry smell is very natural.

Intense sweet strawberry flavour. It's both sweet and mildly sour at the same time. Very mild wheat twang in the finish. No hop presence whatsoever. As with the scent, the strawberry flavour is very natural tasting.

It tastes and smells exactly how I'd expect a sugar-sweetened witbier and strawberry juice to taste, and its delicious.

Without the yeast poured in, its a little thin. Swirl and pour the yeast to give it a little bit of substance. Even so, you really feel the blend of 30 percent fruit juice in this beer. It's on the light side with medium carbonation, but still feels sticky. This works really well as a light, intensely flavoured, and extremely satisfying dessert. Especially in the summertime.

This poured to a slightly pink champagne like look in the glass. Smell is sweet and delicious, like very fresh strawberries. Taste is wonderful, Strawberries and Witbier, quite a nice tasty combination. Mouthfeel is pretty well equal to other witbiers with it's slightly fizzy but slightly weighted feel, that is very very easy to drink. Girlfriend really liked this one, and so did i. Quite a nice change from the ordinary.

Extremely flavourful beer with a strong strawberry taste. A great beer for those who generally don't like beer, but it can still be thoroughly enjoyed by beer drinkers everywhere

250-ml brown glass bottle poured into a Kriek Boon chalice/tulip. Served at around 40 degrees F.

Pours extremely hazy to the point of opacity, showing off an orange-tinged pinkish hue with a pale blush foamy head that settles fairly quickly to a thick, rocky cap that leaves behind some long splotches of lace on the walls of the glass.

Aroma is patently strawberry -- dried strawberries or strawberry preserves, to be precise. As much as I try to pick up anything else, nothing comes through. The great thing about it is that the aroma is in no way artificial, rather very genuine. It's quite appetizing, to be honest.

Light in body but with a bit of wheaty protein providing a bit of fullness to the mouthfeel; quite effervescent, with powerful, bracing bubbles barraging the palate. More ripe strawberries engulf the palate, balanced by a rather tart acidity that keeps things from becoming cloying. Sweet jammy preserves show up again in the finish, lingering for quite some time afterward.

Perhaps not the most complex beer out there, but as far as fruit beers go, this one certainly stands out. With the fruit taking the center stage throughout, it's nice to see that the characteristics are genuine and not overly cloying, as is the case with many beers of this fashion. Though I can't say how cloying a few could become, as it stands, this is one hell of a drinkable beer, and it would undoubtedly be a prime choice in the hot summer months. I almost feel that I should be pouring it into a blender with some ice, or using it as a mixer for a fruity mixed drink. Something else.

I could smell this one as soon as I popped the cap. Tropical fruits, mango, kiwi and, of course, intense strawberry. A very high sense of citric acid, since the smell itself is like sticking an orange up your nose. Very champagne-like.

Nearly no head except for a slight pink ring and central transparent island.

I was expecting a more "off" strawberry flavor, likening to strawberries about to spoil due to a hint of that smell, but the taste is extremely pure and refreshing. Doesn't drink like a beer at all, but as said before, champagne. Extremely crisp with nearly no noticeable hops or malt flavor. Very surprising.

Definitely a dessert beer or, (at the very least) something to spark your girlfriend's interest and keep her from buying Boone's farm.

I really don't know how to rate this, but a part of me says to rate it well because if they can make a beer that doesn't taste like beer . . . they must know what they're doing.

Overall, give it a whirl and when you really want to impress someone, this is the perfect conversation piece.

A: It pours a red-orange colour with a small pink head.

S: It smells like strawberries, a lot like strawberries.

T: It tastes like strawberries; they are more prominent at the start as you can taste wheat and malts towards the end. It is also a little sweet, but it is not overdone.

M: This has a medium body with high carbonation.

O: This is an excellent beer, I will definitely buy it again. It is a nice change from the norm, I have not tastes another beer like it; it’s almost like half beer half cooler, but in a good way. It would be good to drink before driving, a tiny 250 mL bottle at 4.1% abv wouldn’t blow a 0.01.

From notes 1-3-10

Done horizontally with Samuel Smith's Organic Strawberry

Eye: Hazy golden-tangerine with ruby pinkish-reddish highlights. Head on this is pretty small and is off white in color, not much more than a blanket over the beer really. Still looks good on the whole.

Nose: Huge strawberry aroma fills the room when poured. This beer smells like strawberry juice, much like a Strawberry Juicy Juice or perhaps white cranberry-strawberry juice, or even like strawberry icecream. No real beer aroma here whatsoever. Rich. Very sweet smelling and very much a fruit beer...strawberry aroma isn't fake as many American fruit beers tend to be. I don't think that extract flavoring was used here. Brighter and livlier aroma than Sam Smith's

Tongue: Big strawberry flavor here, again, its akin to a strawberry Juicy Juice (which is strawberry juice blended with apple juice) or white cranberry juice. Not really any bitterness whatsoever, it doesn't really need it to balance it out...besides it'd be out of place in a fruit beer like this. Sweet and juicy and soda like, but not cloyinly sweet. This could easily replace juice in the fridge, moreso than lambics, way moreso than lambics...it replaces soda too.

edit: Fruli is sweeter than Sam Smith's and thicker and less beer like and more juice like

Feel and Drinkability: Light in body and highly carbonated with fine carbonation but not fine enough or high enough to be champagne like or tongue scrubbing. Nor is it obnoxious enough to be soda-like where its so high and coarse that it burns and makes your eyes water. Easy to drink, this is one that I really enjoy, I just wish it wasn't as expensive.
