I am re-reviewing this beer while leaving the original review in place. I've never done that before, so it'll be fun I guess. The saved rating will be from the 2nd review, though I'll put the original scores next to the original review in parenthesis.

pours a murky brown color with a big billowy head, both the body and head are slightly tinged with pink. Theres a lot of lace on the glass. The aroma is dominantly of sweetish strawberries. Theres also some koolaid sugaryness and a slight bit of wheat malt in the nose. The taste is very sweet but theres a bit of residual tartness. It kind of reminds me of Lindemans or Morte Subite Framboise. This is just a little too dry to taste exactly like strawberry jam. The mouthfeel is very sugary and actually akin to koolaid. The drikability of this beer is ok, but a bit corrupted by the intense sweetness in the finish.

This beer is not very beer like, its super sweet but also quite tasty.

330ml bottle into a Troubadour tulip glass

Look: Fairly dark red with a pinkish head. Not much in the way of retention or lacing.

Smell: Strawberries. That's about your lot - strawberries, with little or no malt, hops or yeast coming through. However, it succeeds where a lot of strawberry beers fail by not smelling disgustingly chemical or artificial, so plus points for that.

Taste: Again, strawberries and very little else - there's sweetness up front and a fairly tart finish and it manages not to taste excessively artificial in the process. Furthermore, it really doesn't taste like a beer at all. Fizzy fruit juice? Perhaps. Beer? Nope.

Feel: Actually surprisingly good - it has a nice, rounded fruitiness and enough carbonation to keep things interesting.

Overall: I'm not sure whether this is 'beer with fruit juice added' or 'beer with fruit added at the fermentation stage' but either way, it works. It shouldn't, but it does. I've had this on tap in the past and a pint of it is pretty heavy going, even for someone with a sweet tooth, but the 330ml bottle seems 'just right'.

There's no way I'd spend an entire session drinking this, it's just too sweet, but as an 'every now and again' thing it has a lot to recommend it.

A: Pours a hazy ruby red with a quarter finger bubbly pinkish white head. The beer has little head retention and just mild amounts of lacing.

S: Strong aromas of strawberries - like you are in a field of them or surrounded by people having strawberry shortcake. Very pleasant and just slightly sweet, almost like a perfume.

T: Sweet but not overly so, enjoyable flavors of strawberry. In some ways it reminds me a lot of strawberry shortcake - with the biscuits (malts) and the strawberry sweetness.

M: Light bodied with low amounts of carbonation.

O: Extremely refreshing - for more enjoyable that I expected (I was kind of expecting cloying sweetness). Very easy to drink and could be quite sessionable. Would be the perfect alternative to dessert at a summer cookout in the heat.

Pours a ruby and amber red with a quick and spritzy head. Strawberry jam and super sweet candi sagr make up the aroma. Simple yet fun tasting fruit beer. Lots of sugary and sweet strawberries. Crisp finish with a carbonation you can feel but can't see. Makes me think of a well refined strawberry candy.

On tap at the Brew & Meatball Company on 04/28/16.

Pours a cloudy pink with a thin white head. Bubbly and effervescent. Distinct strawberry aroma with faint grain. Flavor is dominated by sweet strawberry. Reminiscent of champagne with ripe strawberries added. A very sweet dessert beer.

Bottle poured into my Bell's tulip.

A: Cloudy orange red hue. Huge two fingers of light pink head. Good retention. Sticky lace.

S: Wow full on strawberry. Reminds me a lot of frankenberry cereal. There isn't much else going on here except pure unadulterated strawberry power.

T: Now the bottle claims orange peel and coriander. None here in this bottle. Loads of strawberry and definite pale malt finish. It actually works. It's starts out all berry and finishes like a euro lager. So weird but not bad.

M: Light bubbly body.

O: Strange and over the top but surprisingly refreshing and drinkable.

Appearance. Pours a murky, red-orange with a fluffy, bubbly white head.

Smell. You guessed it, strawberries!! Reminds me of Strawberry marshmallow candies. Sweet and yummy.

Taste. Sweet, strawberry candy. Just a hint of tartness and alcohol. Maybe a little funky belgian yeast in there too. Different and yummy.

Mouthfeel. Full bodied with medium-light carbonation. A little syrupy.

Overall. Nice for dessert but wouldn't want to drink a bunch. Will try again if I'm in the mood for something sweet.

A - Red Kool-Aid and ice tea. Bright white head with very low lace.

S - Fresh strawberry puree.

T - 90% Strawberry soda. Soft wheat backdrop. Cream.

M - Incredibly refreshing. Light body with great carbonation. If I was in the mood for something sweet on a hot summer day I'd drink this over lemonade.

O - Definitely a beer to have on a 90+ degree day. Outside of that niche though it's way too sweet to be a regular session beer.

Pours a hazy reddish pinkish colour with over a 1 finger head of off white foam.

Truth in advertising is what I get in the smell. Strawberries! Not a totally sweet, sickly sweet aroma going on.

I get a bit of coriander just before the strawberry moves in and takes control. Semi sweet tasting but not exactly tart. I'd imagine the orange peel mentioned on the label would provide some hints of bitterness but I don't get any.

Fairly light bodied with the same for the carbonation. Nice mouthfeel.

Very good fruit beer and I'm not even a big fancier of strawberries.

Had this beer on tap while out to dinner with my wife at Season's restaurant, in Tunkhannock, Pa.

Was skeptical about ordering such an obviously fruity beer. Bartender gave us a sample, and my wife fell in love.

Served ON THE ROCKS!!!. First time having a beer on the rocks for me.

Pink, and bubbly with a nice white head. Quite carbonated.

Smelled like fresh strawberries, and tasted the same, with virtually no hop bitterness.

Reminded me of a beer-sangria. I was surprised that the alcohol content was over 4%, as I would have guessed this to be more in line with a "Shandy" at 2%.

A nice surprise, for what it is. For the style... delightful (a word I have never used to describe a beer).

A: A ruddy, muddy, tan/red color with larger sized bubbles and a thick pink head that quickly dissipates to no head. Looks like if one were to mix coke and hawaiian punch.

S: A sweet, strawberry soda smell with just a hint of yeastiness. Smells good, but doesn't really smell natural, kind of like scented markers.

T: Cloyingly sweet (but that was a given based on the flavor) natural and artificial strawberry flavors going on. Cider-like taste with fruit punch. Heavier yeast flavor, no bitterness, and a little bit of grape juice taste, for some reason. Very juicy and sweet and a little tangy.

M: Like a fruit flavored soda, but slightly drying to the mouth. Well balanced carbonation and slightly viscous and sticky.

D: A little too sweet to keep going on this one, but low in alcohol. Very tasty for those who like sweeter beers, but after just one, I can feel the sugar rush coming on, shortly followed by a headache...

There is a distinctive strawberry pulp hue here - murky and cloudy. The head is feint and wispy and the overall appearance is akin to a sparkling rose wine that hasn't been filtered. Smell is strawberry (surprize!) with a hint of rhubarb or watermelon. The taste is a fruity, delicious blend of sweetness and acidity that is nicely balanced. Mouthfeel is a bit swishy and frothy and the carbonation sticks around to make this as interesting as it is refreshing. With warming, the hops are more pronounced. The finish is pleasant and inviting, just enough bitterness to distinguish it from a berry punch relative. A bit gassy, similar in that respect again to a sparkling wine or rose.

Overall, I found this beer is what it says it is and does a pretty good job of it. Although I'm limited in my experience with this style of beer, this offering strikes me as a good middle of the road fruit beer that serves as a good introduction to the style.

Poured from an 11.2oz bottle (best by date March 2017) into a pint glass.
LOOK: Pours with a finger's worth of very light pink foam that dissipates to a quarter's worth after 25 seconds. Dull red in color with an extreme amount of cloudiness. Rising bubbles are small and nearly non-existent.Lacing is high, but thin.
SMELL: Strong strawberry jam aromas deliciously entangle with mild aromas of coriander and hints of wheat and orange peel.
TASTE: Very strong strawberry jam flavors enter initial and are immidieately followed by subtle orange peel flavors. Orange peel flavors grow slightly stronger as subtle coriander and hints of wheat enter afterwards. Strawberry jam flavors persist in strength throughout the taste experience. There is a mild and strange aftertaste that is similar to pale malts. It's not disgusting by any means, but does knock down the overall taste from a 4 to a 3.75.
FEEL: Medium-bodied and highly carbonated. Goes down somewhat rough. Finishes crisp.
NOTE: Such a good beer. Would be even better if that strange aftertaste wasn't there. I also don't understand how people are saying this is too sweet. It's a fruit beer for goodness sakes. Enough with the "cloying." Then again, besides the hints of wheat, I wouldn't have been able to tell that this was even a beer. Definitely not for beer lovers who love that "beer" taste.

Pink milkshake colour with lots of foam. Very strawberry aroma, enough real strawberry with the actual fruit bits, that the beer is disguised. Satisfying, well carbonated. Good fruity dessert aftertaste.I am not running after fruit beers, but this was the most natural of the many presented this summer in Ontario.
Over 6 years later when i had it again, and clearly extract. Not as good.

Pours red-ish brown-ish colour with light pink head. As normal fruit beer this one smells like fruits - strawberries in this case. Taste is the same - strawberries, very sweet, nothing but strawberries. Very carbonated, sparkly and crisp. I quess it's drinkable if you like strawberries. It's pretty good beer, but I think strawberry flavor is a bit overhelming.

This beer was served in a pint glass.

A- The body of the beer is a bright bubbly pink coloration. The head was 2 fingers high a lightly pink tinge noted to a fluffy white head. Nice head retention. The beer leaves thick rings of lacing on my glass.

S- The aroma of this beer reminds me of my grandmothers strawberry preserves. Citrus and peppery coriander tickle my nose providing a supreme resting spot for strawberries.

T- The flavor of strawberry puree leads the charge. A bit of subdued peppery coriander and the zest of an orange finish up the flavor. Yeah this one is sweet. The beer never enters into the cloying sweet realm.

M- The beer has a viscous feel. The carbonation is active but I think it needs a bit more carbonation.

O- This beer is definitely a sweet treat. I am glad it came in an 8 oz bottle because more than that would be too much. This beer would pair wonderfully with dessert. This beer is definitely a guilty pleasure. Your man card is sure to take a beating if you get caught drinking this by your buddies.

From the bottle, it pours a clear reddish pinkr with a small head. Fruit, mostly strawberry, possibly with some cherry, in the nose. Sweet fruit, some strawberries, in the mouth.

A: The beer is very hazy pinkish red in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that consistently covered the surface.
S: There are strong aromas of strawberry shortcake topping in the aroma.
T: The taste has sweet aromas of strawberries, although the sweetness is not cloying.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and is packed with aromas and flavors of strawberries. It’s quite interesting because there are not many strawberry beers available.

On-tap 3/15/2015 at Battleship Brewhouse, in Fall River, MA served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep pink color, with a short pinkish white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains strong strawberries, light caramelized malts and some Belgian yeast.

T: The taste likewise starts out with a strong fruity strawberry flavors along with some creaminess that you don’t normally find in this type of beer. Then some breadiness comes in from a hearty but not too heavy malt character and Belgian yeast to create a decent balance. The after-taste is sweet as you would expect.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, very mild kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the strawberry flavor.

8oz bottle poured into a wine glass for a quick fix.

Fruli looks nice coming out the glass, A red mixed with pink highlights and a substainable red colored head, how nice. The crown gains an inch and sticks leaving cluttered lace.

First whiffs I get a lot of strawberry which is not all that real. It reminds me of tropical fruit starbursts. I happen to like those so I'll give this a pass although it's artifical. Fruit juice with a faint sweet malt.

This ain't all that bad, there's a time and place for everything. Not the most artificial fruit flavor I've had in a beer, it's quite quenching. Small hints of vanilla and strawberry's combined. A big malt backing. Starbursts meltesd in the summer.

The feel is smooth and sweet, no interference from any hops. Medium bodied and a lot of carb giving off a lash to the tounge. This is brewed by Huyghe so there is some quality to this, although it's nowhere near the best fruit offering.

I found this to be an unexpectedly characterful and satisfying beer.

Deep pink, faintly brownish hint, it had a medium white head with faint pink hue slowly shrinking to foamy top.

Aroma is bright strawberry fruit leather, hint of yeasty dough.

Taste is light, bright strawberry sweetness, light yeastiness, hint of coriander, spice. It is crisp, light, and refreshing, but nevertheless characterful.

A modest off-white head settles on this beer, with a modicum of lacing and moderate retention. It covers a muddled, reddish amber brew with a strawberry cast.

The strong aroma of fresh strawberries is uncanny, and overpowers any other scents. A big sip reveals the strawberry flavor infused with the beer as well, with a sweetness akin to a fruity soft drink. Decent carbonation gives a good mouth feel, but again, it reminds one of red pop. Just a hint of orange peel or citrus in the finish, with a hint of bittering hops to balance.

Definitely a dessert beer for special occasions that would pair nicely with chocolates or fruit tortes.

A: Pours a cloudy pinkish/red. When held to light it's orange around the edges. Has a small white head that leaves a ring around the glass. Leaves a little bit of lacing.

S: Great aroma of strawberries.

T: Doesn't really have any beer taste characteristics. It's all about the strawberries in the taste.

M: Light body with medium carbonation. The carbonation is perfect for this beer.

D: I forget that this is a beer with how it tastes. I tried a few fruit beers at a beer festival in Winnipeg and nothing comes close the being as good as this one. It would be a great dessert beer. But it's pretty expensive for such a little bottle.

It is what it is. I'm reviewing this to its style.

Hazy ruby with a light pink head, which is actually quite gorgeous. Aromas and flavors are just dominated by super, super sweet strawberry preserves (ie strawberries and sugar, and more sugar). Thick coating of strawberries left on the palate. I'd go for this one again as an appetizer or dessert beer, but having this alone will give me an unwanted sugar high and having it with a meal will completely drown out the flavors of the food.
