Notes: Colour and sight: pale blond, the fine and regular effervesce ensures a fine and stable head.
Scent: Slightly malty, a nice touch of alcohol, spicy.
Flavour: Feels like the sound shot of alcohol is igniting the mouth. In reality the tongue and palate are warmed. The taste is characterized by its roundness. The aftertaste is strong, long-lasting and dry bitter.

Look: Pours orange / gold with a large, frothy head which dissipates fairly quickly. Slightly hazy.

Smell: Floral and fruity. Citrus, banana, and apricot predominate.

Taste: Immediately sweet like its smell, but gives way to a pleasant bitterness with smokey undertones.

Feel: Light, highly carbonated - perhaps a little too much for my liking. High alcohol content is hidden fairly well, but the warmth comes through towards the end of a serving.

Overall: One of, if not my favorite beer. Nothing I drink daily for the obvious reasons (cost, ABV), but something I'm fortunate enough to look forward to every weekend. I've been fortunate in that my local shops carry four packs of bottles and 16 oz cans as well as the 750ml bottle.

A 24oz bottle poured gently into a pint glass

A: A dark brown pour, with a two finger head, even though I poured extremely light.

S: Caramel and malt. It's pretty obvious.

T: Coffee & caramel... delicious.

M: Thick, full flavored, yo.

O: 19/20. Great beer.

Pours a golden pale yellow-straw color With a nice head that sticks around for a while. Laces all the way down. Beautifully carbonated.
Smells of fruity esters and possibly a bit of bread. I pick up alot going on but really, I honestly am not sure what! Very complex.
Taste has a twang of apricots and some orange zest. Finishes crisp and a bit clean. As it warms, the spices are not as prominent and almost becomes a tiny bit bready. Also some alcoholic burn some time later.

This is my second time having this one and as always, its solid. Good stuff!

330 ml from local BJs. I just love the fact they serve belgians there and the menu is secret from most patrons. Poured nice golden color with slightly foamy, white head. Nose had hint of bananas with cooked cane sugar. Taste was excellent! Cane sugar, granny apple finish with, that slight bit of belgian sourness. The mouthfeel was warm, but not of alcohol. Definitely would drink another if I didn't want to sample other Belgians.

I am finally writing a new review after 2 1/2 years almost. What better beer to review than one of my two favorite Belgian Strong Ales.

Poured into a Delirium Tremens globe. Almost overflowing with a 3 finger head that stays around for awhile. Lacing fills the inside of the glass.

A- Has a nice golden color with a cloudy appearance. A
Beautiful beer with bubbles rising from the bottom of the
globe into the sudsy head.

S- Smells strong of alcohol but has a has a nice fruity smell as
well.

T- The taste of this beer is second to none imo. It is fruity and
crisp but, at the same time, has an alcohol kick to it that
you can tell is there.

M- This beer feels very good on the palate. Even though it
has an ABV of 8.5%, it still goes down very smooth.

D- This is a very drinkable beer. It might be a little to heavy for
those used to 5% abv and below beers.

In closing, this is one of the finest beers in the world. I really enjoy it each and every time I get the chance. I highly recommend this beer! Peace out beer freaks.

Spectacular! One of my favorite beers. Beautiful color and wonderful taste. The high carbonation compliments to complex pallet and aromas. If poured correctly, it has an impressive, yet subtle, head. Initially has a sweet and fruity taste, and it closes with a mild hop and bitter taste. Lots of spice and flavor, truly an enjoyable beer!

Poured from a 1 pint, 9.4 fl. oz. bottle (1 and 7 ticked on back label) into a 330 mL tulip. Hazy golden color with a thick, creamy, short-lived head.

Esters and ketones abound, concealing high alcohol content--can't smell it; can't taste it.

Fruity start, bitter finish, and silky mouthfeel lend this beer an exceptional drinkability. Almost goes down too easily for its ABV. Makes an excellent evening sipping beer.

Poured from bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy dark gold, with a three-finger white head. A good amount of lacing is left over as I drink.

Smell: It smells great! Malts, bananas, sweet fruits, and a hint of booze.

Taste: Amazing. Sweet and a bit tart, with a nice boozy malt taste to it. Mild fruityness to it as well. A very balanced brew.

Mouthfeel: Moderate body and moderate carbonation, should be sipped due to alcohol content.

Overall: My favorite beer of the style, so well balanced and delicious!

Poured from 11.2 oz. bottle into Duvel tulip glass.

Appearance: A slightly cloudy light golden. A decent sized white head fades into a thin white layer. A little bit of lacing.

Smell: A spicy sweetness with notes of banana, pear, apple, and cloves. A slight scent of hops with some yeast.

Taste: Sweet taste of apple, banana, clove, and yeast with a touch of hop bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with a high amount of carbonation. Crisp and smooth.

Overall: Great strong taste and balance. Up there with the best Belgian ales.

Darkish color 1"head, beautiful aroma, almost champagne like, sweet, carmelly, a little thick, yet nicely bubbly, full round exquisite taste. A real classic. My next mission, now that a neighbor several reviews ago mentioned that it was on tap on the east side, is to try what I assume will be the river of Eden. A classic!!

I just tried this for the first time during lunch with my better half, enjoying Delirium over a Reuben and an extremely fresh fruit salad. The Delirium easily held up its end of the bargain. The appearance was good, but the head thin, perhaps from the waiter's pour into a big-bodied Delirium glass. I liked the color, a somewhat cloudy orange. Lots of fruit on the nose, with some ginger and cloves for spice that impressed. Magnificent taste, full of orange, pear, cherry, and a hint of banana, ideally blended with the spiciness. Well carbonated, the texture was smooth and slightly on the effervescent side. It would have been all too easy to order a second Delirium, but it was only 11:30 after all, and I had some work to do.

Great beer, one I'd be remiss not to both recommend and look to cellar.

Poured from a 16 OZ can into a snifter. The aroma is full hops, malt and some yeast, very nice. The appearance is a great orangish yellow color with a medium sized white head. The taste is big on citrus with malt and hops, a fantastic flavor. The beer is medium bodied with a smooth aftertaste. Overall, an outstanding beer.

Ah, another one of my favourite beers. Great belgian strong pale ale!

The color is golden with a big white head, though the head gets smaller and smaller as you drink it.

Smells nicely with much fruits and some bitter hops in the smells, some citrusy tones too.

Tastes, as I wrote in an earlier review like a mix of Duvel and Orval. With a nice sourness or as we say in Sweden "syrlighet". Very smooth to drink with some fruits, quite bitter and a very special flavour.

Great!

12 ounce bottle purchased at the North Coast Co-op in Eureka, California.

Pours into my goblet a regal gold. Tiny bubbles spray up toward the glacial head's underbelly. Said head collapses after a few minutes, leaving a short blanket of lace around the glass.

The smell is a field of peppered banana peels, alcohol marinated coconut flesh, sugar cookies, and an undertone of earthy yeast.

At the front of the taste is a juicy, succulent fruitiness -- like biting into a ripe, alcoholic peach -- followed by a high-pitched bitterness that rings throughout. Aftertaste is a spicy malt sweetness, with that bitterness still raging, and pleasingly dry. Some slight alcohol warmth through my gut and throat, yet not evident in the taste.

Lots of carbonation -- floats around my palate pleasantly.

Belgian pales are one of my favorites style. This ranks high for me.

Delirium Tremens pours out a big fluffy
head over a cloudy golden ale with lots
of suspended yeast particle goodness.
There's a little bit of carbonation happening,
and the nose is rich with fruit and malt, with
a touch of honey. The flavor is round and mellow,
basically malt with a touch of hop. The mouthfeel
is tingly yeat smooth. The alcohol by volume, 8.5%
is well moderated, though there is a definite warming
effect. This is really one of the best Belgians I've
had.

One of my favorites. The smoothness belies the high alcoholic content. I don't like the bitterness of the IPA style so this beer has become my "go to" when drinking with IPA snobs. They don't know what they're missing!

Poured from bottle into regular glass.

A - Poured yellow, golden color with huge head that dissipates slowly leaving lots of lacing around the glass.

S - Mostly yeast with citrus, banana and almonds.

T - Very sweet upfront with slight bitterness. Alcohol comes through towards the finish but not too overwhelming.

M - Medium bodied with high carbonation.

D - Excellent pale ale. Would love to have more in the future.

A. Poured a light hazy copper. lots of particulates an I let it sit for a week and poured very carefully.Small white lasting fizzy head. Not much lacing on the glass. This was a not so good looking brew.

S. OK close my eyes and take a long draw. Lots of fruits apples, pears, grapes very interesting.

T. Yummy fruity up front, apples, bannanas, and pears. Then a slight bitterness folowed by a nice warmness from the alcohol. Slightly spicy on the tongue.

M. Medium bodied nice carbonation, a little on the fizzy side. Dry finish.

D. A nice brew lots of flavors, and great texture. This would have been an A+ but I just didn't care for the appearance.

Dark yellow, almost orange. Full white head that goes away quickly. Leaves a nice white foam. Smells of citrus and spice. Almost Christmasy. No hoppy flavor at all. Taste of clove and spice. Champagne like effervescence / carbonation. A fabulous beer at 8.9 ABV. A must try!

Well seeing as I am not the biggest fan of Belgian Strongs I wants sure what to think when I first got it. But after my first sip, I was sold. Man is this a great beer. Full of carbonation and goodness. Not many beers can bring up memory but this takes me back to my first experience in a European pub.

Great brew. Highly recommend.

An outstanding beer, like a pink elephant peeing into your mouth, the ceramic bottle holds an elegant blonde ale that will knock you out, if drank too hastily. The perfect beer with a barbeque.

Great tasting strong Belgian beer. First tried 4 years ago when a Belgian friend of mine was visiting, have since been to the Huyghe brewery and had a tour from one of the brewers, the beer is a bit of an institute and cult! This is a lighter version to their famous "Delirium Nocturnum".
