Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head.
Scent
Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present.
Flavour
IBU: 24
Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Copenhagen 9/11 2018. 33 cl ceramic bottle from Meny, Bryggervangen, Kbh Ø. Huyghes characteristic pink Elephant on the label which always makes me think of Dumbo's psychedelic ride in the old Disney movie.

Pours hazy dark brown with a red hue. Medium-sized off-white head. Settles as very thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer.

Aroma is sweet but with a quite aggressive spicy bitterness lurking in the background. Dark fermented fruit, humid basement odor with a notable and prominent bitterness present. Potent alcoholic presence.

Strong carbonation. Medium thick but lively and prickly texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by and balanced by slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is mostly sweet with a bitter undercurrent.

Nicely balanced, powerful Belgian.

Foggy dark brown, nearing acorn at the bottom, with a supple head two fingers of of khaki foam.

Chocolate gingersnap starts a little sweeter than expected as the airy, crackly carbonation then exhales zucchini bread after a little sting. A sort of rum soaked dark, sour fruit emerges with time.

Feel is also lighter than I remember, yet it's still on the stronger side.

Again, another old review needed revamping. This is a truly unique beer that's difficult to put one's finger on.

Medium brown with glimmers of ruby, mostly clear, forms an airy, sandy, thick head with good retention.
On the nose, caramel malt and a hint of roast, coffee cake, yeast, caramel apple.
A delightful blend of flavours - warm spices, toasted malt, umami yeast, caramelized banana bread; medium body and carbonation, sticky feel with a whisper of alcohold burn, which along with the roast balances the sweetness in the finish (which is still semo-dry).

Lovely, cozy malt flavour, yeast character, great balance, lingering on the palate.

At my lady Pamela's house; bottled and slightly chilled, 330mL in a weizen glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Best before August 18/28. My 2nd beer from the Melle, Belgium brewery, and 1st for 2026. Highly appraised by Sundae the cat...

Deep, rusty brown color with a 2 inch, pale tan head of frothy foam. Slow to slump, the head has everlasting retention with thick, sticky rings of lace left to trail/
The aroma is sweet, notes of molasses and plums, cherry jam on brown bread and uniquely smokey and floral - very inviting if not effusive.
Big ale-fruit flavors up front - more cherries and berries, candy sugar and pears, the flavors are much of the same as the nose as some tart astringency mingles with rich dark fruit in candy glaze, flambéed by alcohol on the periphery.
Eminently drinkable, wonderfully complex, dangerously delicious.
Body is medium and a bit less than expected which is part of it's dangerousness.
The finish is surprisingly bitter yet balanced - the dark sugars and fruit character linger behind herbal hop bite.
AS good as I remember.

Poured at 48 degrees.

Look: Excellent. Dark reddish brown with a medium tan head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing.
Smell: Sweet malt with raisins & a touch of Belgiany funk.
Taste: Sweet fruit with a slight tinge of yeasty bitterness.
Feel: Heavy in the mouth with medium carbonation.
Overall: A good beer, but definitely weak compared to other Deliriums and Belgian brews in general, however I’d still recommend sampling it.

One pint can. Pours a deep clear brown with a thin tan head quickly gone. Scents of raisins and some yeast. Great flavors follow the nose with a sweet start and a tangy, tart bitter lingering finish. Some alcohol warming. Slightly fizzy mouthfeel with medium carbonation.
