750 ml bottle, 2005 vintage
A: Pours a dark mahoghany with a tan three-finger head.
S: Strong aromas of raisins, vanilla, and port with hints of chocolate. Very nice.
T: Poured it cold, tasted nothing. So I waited for it to warm, but to no avail. There is some kind of taste, but it is too subtle and fleeting to be able to identify. There isn't a bad taste, but rather nothing at all but perhaps a slight oxidized taste and a hint of Belgian yeast. Very disapointing after the wonderful smell.
M: Medium bodied and overly carbonated. Feels like sandpaper on the tongue.
D: After the great experience I had with Delerium Tremens, I was really looking foward to this one. Oh well. I'm hoping I got a bad bottle, so maybe I'll try this one again.

Brouwerij Huyghe Delirium Nocturnum Belgian Dark Strong Ale, 8.5% ABV. Gushered upon opening, all over the damn counter. Pours dark brown and had a 1.5 finger head which left nice lacing. Aroma is dark fruit, spice, and malt. Taste follows, faintly sweet, slightly bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Poured into a chalice. Dark amber color with a 1.5 creamy tan head that disappated quickly. Notes of dried fruit and cloves. Appropriate level of sweetness without bitterness. Nicely carbonated without overdoing it. Overall enjoyable!

750 ml bottle, looks like a date of October 7, 2021. An Xmas gift from the homie last year, and probably purchased on clearance... Consumed at cellar temp..
A: A huge POP when the cork came out, definitely surprised. Tons of smoke; pour is excellent, finger point five of pillowy off-white khaki head. Body is a creamy caramel brown type color; gets darker & more ruby / mahogany as the bottle pours on... It's got some lacing; it actually looks super appealing..
S: Aroma is smooth, creamy, slightly nutty. Yeasty. Not a whole lot happening, but authentic smelling.
T: Creamy flavors of vanilla, raspberry, plum, cherry, & other dark fruits.
F: Feel is super creamy, fluffy, pillowy, light, especially for the high abv..
Overall, highly impressed with this one, definitely enjoyed it waaaay more than I was expecting to, especially after aging for over two years. Highly recommended stuff.

The aroma gives off plum, molasses, some spice and malt. The body starts off rather light and spicy, with a creamy core flavor of cola and currant jam. A satisfying and fruity beer, like a more mellow and warm version of a typical Belgian perfect for colder times.

Warm, spicy, malty goodness. Had on tap from Hop City in Birmingham, AL. Rich dark red color. Mild head of foam with extreme lacing on the glass. Smells of a toasted malt, light winter spice, plum, and other dark fruits. Taste brings out more boozey, malty, and spicy notes. Sweetness of the dark fruits is there as well. Well rounded, full bodied. Delicious.

22 oz corked and caged bottle into a pint glass. Cloudy, mostly-opaque reddish-tinged mahogany color with a small short-lived tan head. Dark fruits, brown sugar, spicy aroma. Sweet, bready, boozy-cake like flavor with hints of vanilla. Medium-full bodied with a creamy feel. Nice sweet boozy treat.

Usually Belgian dark strong ale, spicy, malty. Good beer, was better after being opened and a night in the fridge I would say. 3 year old bottle, not sure if that changed much.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured into a Tulip.
A lively clear chestnut brown pour with ruby highlights and a large off-white head that recedes to a thin cap after a few minutes but never fully disappears. Fruit cake-like malty nose with notes of rainwater and minerals. Tasting malty overall, rum cake and dark dried fruit to open before quickly moving to moderately bitter earthy/woody hops. There are hints of dark sugars. Mouthfeel is soft and frothy with a crisp finishing bite on the back. Drinks very fast for 8.5%. Nice sipper, especially for November. I could drink a second if I had enough time.
