Bottle poured into a goblet. Pours a light high head. Has good aroma and very crisp carbonation. The taste is excellent! I really enjoyed this brew and would buy it again. Just a flat out good Belgium beer.

Bottom Line: If you see it buy it! as its enjoyable!

750 ml bottle poured into a Deschutes Snifter.
Bottle dating of 1-2012. Codes of 16:47 guessing thats a time stamp, and L09=12073 I have no idea what that means.

A- Pours a deep ruby red brown color with fizzy light carmel colored head that quickly dissipates to a ring at the edge of the glass.

S- Wow. Spicy Belgian yeast hits you in the nose first. Lots of sweet dark fruits follow, raisins come to mind. Also plums maybe some figs. Nice sweet caramel aromas.

T- Tasty to say the least. Flavors of toasted dark breads mixed with the dried darker fruits adds to the spicy Belgian yeast. Well done.

M- Very easy drinking considering the ABV. The alcohol is hidden well. Moderately high carbonation, but its not overwhelming.

O- A fantastic offering from this Brewery. If one is looking to get into Belgian Beers this should be a first stop. With out a doubt an easy drinking true Belgian Beer.

The appearance had a plum like color in natural lighting, when held up a deep amber appeared in a sunburst fashion. The head poured a white/yellow tint and retained itself throughout the beer.

The smell had the fruity/estery aroma that you would expect from a belgian ale. I could almost trick myself into a cherry like under tone.

The mouthfeel had a dry finish and bitter to the tongue almost tart.

The flavor began with a nice caramel coating in taste developing into the "fruityness" of the natural yeast. I finished tart much I would describe like a sour cherry

Overall this is a world class beer and a great Belgian Ale in all respects.

A: Pours a dark ruby/mahogany color with 3 fingers of tan head that retains at half a fingers worth for a long while

S: Dark fruits, sweet malts, Belgian yeast, and alcohol

T: Follows the nose. Some sweet and very lightly roasted dark malts start it off, with the Belgian yeast and fruitiness rushing in shortly afterwards. Alcohol finishes it off, adding some more fruitiness

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid BSDA with a lot of pale/Tremens-like character with the fruits and sweetness but just enough light roast and candi sugar to make it dark. This is up there as one of my favorite BSDA's for sure
