Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Formerly Heyoka IPA and Senita IPA

GoneAway is a western charged firecracker. We conjured the classics and then laid them on a bed of pale malt. This India Pale Ale shoots straight to the bitter edge before falling into a mellow haze. Deep gold and ready to travel into the distance.

I really like this IPA. Served on draft and a very fresh keg. Great presenation and head. Aroma is sweet and inviting. Well balanced and with significant hops, that is a rarity. Will be having many more of these.

Canned 3rd March. Picked up at Imperial Bottleshop.

A mostly clear orange with a dense, fluffy, off-white head, this looks great. The nose is surprisingly muted, with pineapple juice, bitter orange peel, grapefruit and a little mango. The palate opens mildly sweet and moderately bitter with a blend of pineapple, grapefruit, bitter orange, rather marmalade like. There's a mild burnt caramel-like sweetness present as well. The hoppiness is clean and bitter, though there's a lack of brightness that holds this beer back. The sweetness lingers on into the finish, blending with the orange peel, gaining a marmalade flavor. Medium-light in body, softly carbonated, this beer is decent.

Appearance - Pours with a slight haze and pure golden in color with an off-white, finger width head. Fair retention, in a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Decent lacing, with broken lines and spotting making up most of it.

Smell - Cracking the beer results in the nose being greeted with strong orange with hints of pineapple, peach and starfruit. Hints of crackery malt sit beneath.

Taste - Follows the nose - citrusy with an assortment of the aforementioned tropical fruit notes. Slight spice bite. Very bready, cracker-like malt base that stays mostly hidden until it opens up near the finish. Aftertaste rings with orange juiciness, mild pineapple zing, fading bready sweetness and just a hint of pithy bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with moderate, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a smooth finish.

Overall - Pretty tasty IPA, though frankly a bit more bitterness would have been nice, as it's nowhere near a 'West' style IPA as the can suggests. Nothing I'd seek out specifically, but an occasional buy isn't out of the question.

Amazing! Top IPA to date for me. Lovely flavor and finish. Not too bitter or hoppy.

Canned 2/24. Today is 3/17.

I live in CA. This beer is described as a west coast IPA. If this beer were available on a regular, I'd aways buy it above a sea full of available west coast IPAs. Dry. Crisp. Clean. Starburst tropical fruit without being sugary and too sweet. Half Acre NAILED this one. Highly recommended.

purchased a pint can while on a buauness trip to New Lenox, Il. No discernable best by/canned date. I could smell the juicy fruits as I poured this into a tulip glass. The taste follows the nose... tropical fruits.. passion fruit pineapple, mango and even watermelon? Hoppy to the last drop. A spectacular IPA.

A-Light golden yellow with white head that lingers on the surface. Good amount of lacing
S-Dank aroma with a sweet pine and fresh cut grass element
M-Medium light mouthfeel with low end carbonation
T-Sweet fuller flavour at the front with a smooth bitter accent that follows. Dry with a biscuit presence
O-Drinkable IPA that grew on my as I drank it...

The flavor isn't as bold as the nose leads you to believe. It's complex and gets better with each drink. Tropical and earthy hop flavor. Slightly bitter with medium body.

On tap at the Memphis Taproom in Philadelphia. Nice one inch head and served at a perfect temperature. Beautiful coloring and fruity aroma. Taste was brilliant IPA. I was very impressed. Loved this beer.
