Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Formerly Heyoka IPA and Senita IPA

GoneAway is a western charged firecracker. We conjured the classics and then laid them on a bed of pale malt. This India Pale Ale shoots straight to the bitter edge before falling into a mellow haze. Deep gold and ready to travel into the distance.

Scored one of the original "Heyoka" beers thrown in as an extra in a trade back around 5 years ago I would estimate. Was really good, I guess they changed the name because it was offensive to people playing Street Fighter or immigrants from Asia calling themselves native or some shit. City libruls gonna librul (shoulder shrug).

Pours a slightly hazy yellow color 1/3" white head. Aroma popped off some good aromatics, maybe a simcoe and amarillo thing going for it.

Nice dry body, good hop flavors, pine, citrus, even a slight amount of passion fruit. Bitterness probably around the 60ibu range. I really liked this one. Very good west coast ipa from Chicago. This thing stays light while delivering a substantial amount of good flavor and a hearty abv when you're pounding 12oz at a time.

Golden yellow body, perhaps slightly hazy; decent white head; sticky; lacing down the glass. Bold, prominent orange and tangerine aroma; very citrus-like. Orange and bitter flavors; light cereal malt backbone. Juicy and coarse on the palate; dry finish but with a wet edge to it.

This is a very fine American IPA. The aroma and taste are hard to beat, delivering refreshing, nearly mouth-puckering citrus and hop bitter qualities to your palate.

Gold color, clear. A small head that leaves a thin film of bubbles. Good streaks for lace.

Beyond the typical balanced hop/pale malt smell is a light slightly soured cream aroma. Together, the combination works.

This beer is more bitter than malty, although it forms a solid base. The hop is main story even though it's uncomplicated. The beer leans to the spritzy side with body being too moderate to compensate. Medium aftertaste considering the bitterness.

Poured from 16 oz. can into a Schlafly tulip. Pours a hazy golden orange - just about perfect as far as single IPA's go. About 1/2 inch foamy white head that leaves some clingy foamy lacing. Great juicy hop taste and very drinkable for 7%. This falls into the "one of the best IPA's I had never heard of" category, until generously receiving a can from my brother.

Can poured into a Russian River Brewing Co nonic pint glass

A: Pours slightly hazy golden amber with a creamy off white head that hangs around and leaves some thick lacing.

S: Sweet tropical fruit, a touch of melon, followed by bright citrus zest, resinous pine, biscuity malt, and a little honey sweetness.

T: Tropical fruit, guava, mango, a hint of melon, citrus, grapefruit, tangerine, resinous pine, slight dank herbal notes, biscuity malt, and a touch of honey sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, pretty soft on the palate with a nice slap of bitterness on the finish.

O: Glad I grabbed a can to try when I got the chance. Wish it was a little fresher, but the bones of it are still there and are quite tasty.

Hazy pale gold with three fingers of white foamy head that lasts about ten minutes. Rings of medium bubble lace.
Smell is slightly dank and citrus with cracker malts.
Taste is sweet citrus lemon orange with plenty of malt support.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with ample carbonation. Finish is very mildly dry and bitter sweet.
Overall a tasty well crafted East Coast IPA. Easy drinking and tasty.
