Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Formerly Heyoka IPA and Senita IPA

GoneAway is a western charged firecracker. We conjured the classics and then laid them on a bed of pale malt. This India Pale Ale shoots straight to the bitter edge before falling into a mellow haze. Deep gold and ready to travel into the distance.

Love the IPAs from Half Acre. This one is one of my favorites from Half Acre along with Vallejo. Half Acre products are available in the Chicago area.

Poured from 16 oz can into a Pinot noir glass. 01/24/16 GONEICEFISHING on bottom of can.

A: Clear peach-amber with healthy 1-finger off-white frothy head with good retention and lacing.

S: Resin, pine, pineapple, grapefruit, and honeysuckle stand out with a sweetbread malt aroma

T: Flavor mirrors the aroma with thick resin and pine with grass and grapefruit with more resiny kick in the finish. Maltiness is slightly sweet with good counterbalancing of the hop blasts. High bitterness.

M: Tacky and slightly oily with low carbonation and medium body with mildly dry finish, could be drier.

O: A really stellar American IPA with great aroma and flavor that could be lightened up with some cane sugar to be even better and more drinkable.

Where is all this flavor coming from....non -descript nose and look comes with a great taste and finish. Very crisp and clean...I'd like to revisit this one in the summer.

Canned on 1/11/18. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy glowing golden with a fluffy white head that falls leaving nice retention and great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have subtle hints of citrus along with some crackers and fresh bread. Lots of malt. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. Some orange and grapefruit. Lots of fresh grass. Moderate bitterness with a touch of sweetness. Solid malt backbone. Finishes juicy. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the fuller side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, creamy and smooth.

This is an alright IPA. It's pretty clean and refreshing. It's nothing too crazy, but it's enjoyable.

Can from Downtown wine and spirits
Hazy light golden color with a decent bubbly white head that slowly dissipates and leaves some stickies on the way down. Lots of citrus pine and resin with bits of mineral water and some faint bready malt. Decent beer, but not smooth in any way light aspirin bitterness.

Dated 1/9/18. 1 month old.

Pale amber, clear with a slight haze. Huge 3 fingers of head of rocky white head. Grapefruit rind and hops up front on the nose, followed by a bitter dankness, pine and citrus. Faint bite of alcohol on both the nose and taste. Dankness take the front seat on the taste with a biscuity malt. A bit thin for 7%, with a light oily body. The phrase West Coast "champagne IPA" comes to mind.

Maybe a bad batch, but not a lot of nose and taste is a little weak and watery.
