Very Good
Tuna Session India Pale AleTuna Session India Pale Ale
Notes: Why is the beer called Tuna? We don’t know. Just say it, “I’ll take a Tuna.” It feels good. The ocean is a magical place.

The antipode to Navaja, Tuna is rife with attributes that make for ongoing pleasure without the heft. Too much weight while exploring the ocean is dangerous.

Watermelon, peach, guava. A denser body to hold up to the sweeter finish. Lemon lime citrus zest, tropical fruit juices.

Consumed 10/4/17

A: Tangerine gold - slight chill haze but mostly clear - pours with a medium size, white head, fades to a few wisps, retains a medium collar and leaves some streaks and spots of lacing

S: Nicely hoppy - citrus, with tangerine and orange slices, juice - some soft, herbal hop cones - floral citrus - bright Mosaic actually used in moderation - peach, berries, tropical notes - bready, lightly grainy base, with hints of sweetness

T: Moderate amount of citrus, with some orange, tangerine, and hints of grapefruit - touches of leafy, herbal hops - hint of grass - low to medium bitterness - touches of underripe peach, some light tropical notes - tropical pine (Mosaic) - low amount of sweetness, actually much drier than I anticipated

M: Medium body, smooth, crisp and dry finish

O: This is NOT too much tuna

Do you like pale ales with Midwest sensibilities? Do you like Daisy Cutter? Then drink Tuna. It's quite seriously one of the best Half Acre beers I've had in a while.

It pours golden with a slight haze and about two fingers of head. The aroma is dank and piney. The taste is fairly balanced but the finish is fairly lopsided on the bitter side. Medium body and not much in terms of carbonation bite.

From a 16 oz can it pours a cloudy golden orange color. A modest bubbly head soon transforms itself into a fingernail length silky foam film. It retains well and leaves a marvelous soapy mess of lace.
In the nose I first detect citrus, berries and tropical fruit. There is orange marmalade with a touch of herbal hops. A crackery malt aroma lingers in the background.
The taste and mouthfeel develop slowly and undergo interesting transformations. Clean, crisp and light bodied at first with a mineral quality and a touch of citrus pith. Soon more flavors become unlocked, particularly the peppery hops that add moderate bitterness to the finish. The body becomes fuller, creamier and with a touch of sweetness from the malt.
An easy to drink hoppy pale ale that has lots of depth and character for its low ABV. I would have again.

Pours clear, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is grass, pale malt, light orange juice, and dank hops. Light bodied, dank, slightly bitter with moderate carbonation. Makes for a solid sessionable pale. There are other pales I prefer, but the dankness really sets this one apart. I would get it again.

16oz cann PKGD 04/13/17 "It's a reptile house"
A - frothy ivory head caps a hazy and nearly opaque tangerine colored ale
S - bitter grapefruit and orange rind, a bit tropical with some pine
T - zesty citrus: grapefruit & orange; mango, pineapple, and passion fruit, nutty grain, yeast
M - light-to-medium body, resinous with a bitter and dry finish
O - nice flavors and quite refreshing with a lower ABV making it easy to have more than one. I'd get it again if thr price was right, otherwise I prefer their Daisy Cutter to this one.
