Notes: Imperial IPA, a doubling of our house IPA, Space. A chasm of pits and peaks, swollen with caramel and sap. The water is chummed, here come the sharks.

Purchased in Murrieta, CA at Marly Mart July 28, 2018. Dated June 12 I believe.

This is malty hop bomb, in a good way. It looks beautiful in the glass...dark, red amber-brown. Loads of caramel malts with sweet, resinous pine and citrus notes. More piney, wet hops.

The nose isn’t big on this as is often the case with double IPAs but it’s unique and tasty..subtle mango and stonefruit with a bit of light herbaceousness.

Mouthfeel is wet at first with a fairly moderate finish despite the heavy malt and hop dose. Carbonation seems to be moderate to low. Lacing on my glass was minimal.

One of the better and “truer” IIPAs I’ve had in a while. And it’s obviously got some unique stuff going on with the the various hops with which it was brewed.

Truly delicious but glad I just got a pint as it’s a big beer and the kind I usually drink late at night as a bit of a personal celebration.

If you like your DIPAs heavy and boozy, look no further.

This rocks the tropical sweet bitter double to a "T".

I'm loving the mouthfeel here, it's a heavy yet subtle beer, great!

Drink this if you like big beer.
Cheers!

Can poured into IPA glass.

Clear, amber, off white small bubbled head, settles into nice collar with floating islands.

Ripe tropical fruit, vegetal hops, citrus zest and malt sweetness in the aroma.

Flavor is light caramel sweetness, floral and zesty hops, slight bit of over ripe tropical fruits.

Moderate carbonation and medium body, a hint syrupy.

Big and flavorful balanced DIPA.

Pours a hazy amber orange, small head that fades, no lacing.
Citrus aroma and flavor, malt backbone. High and we'll hidden but noticeable. Damn tasty beer.
Did they pay Billy Bob Thornton to use his likeness?

L: Pours a dark copper red color with a small white head and several fingers of lacing on the glass.

S: Strong ripe fruit, mixed with lemon rind, some orange, notes of caramel and sap, mixed with a boozy presence. Very inviting smelling.

T: Strong ripe fruit, orange, lemon and grapefruit rind, mixed with a caramel and crackery malt mixed with a slight dankness and some noticeable booze.

F: Full body, smooth creamy carbonation.

O: This is a very fantastic IPA.

A fabulous double IPA that is closer to 9-10% ABV, not the 7 posted on this official listing -- reminds me a bit of the Drink by... Stone series of the same weight. Great pine, resin, citrus aromas, dead-on taste to match, with some good sticky lacing to the glass. LOVE the mouthfeel on this one, and the overall taste. Maybe a new HA favorite for me, though that darn Golden Tuna of 2015 still haunts me... missed it by a few days when I got here this past week. Anyway, seek out the DEEP SPACE...UPDATED 8.28.18 on rating - comes off a little sickly sweet than say Double Daisy so adjusting downward. :)

A nice mid amber haze color with an aroma thats bursting with peach, mango, apricot, juicy fruit, and fresh cut grass. Big bold and rich flavors. Taste is very similar to aroma with a total assault on your pallet of juicy fruits, sweet malt, and a slight bitter finish. Feeling is perfect for a DIPA just right amount of carbonation, smooth and easy drinking. This is an exceptional DIPA that should be enjoyed by all.

nose is mostly sweet malty notes, some hints of floral and pine. palate is similar, with some orange and grapefruit notes coming through. not much alcohol when its cold, but definitely comes out a bit when its warmer. drinking this about a month after canning so maybe was better fresh, but in general a 10% hoppy brew should hold up a while. overall good stuff but nothing insane or top flight to my taste.

Pours a familiar color mixture of amber and orange, small 1/4" white head on the top. More of an older school hop aroma, probably the newest hop in there is Amarillo, which is a nice variety to dry hop with. Mostly citrus orange hop nose.

Taste, ample malt body, good hopping, ibu range in the 80s I would guess. Slightly sweet, plenty sticky throughout the mouth feel on this one. Alcohol is somewhat hidden, its a strong beer, but it does drink like a strong beer, just not quite feeling the double digit strength, but at the same time, its not invisible. Caramel and tangerine feels on the backend.

Just another good Half Acre beer even if you've had hundreds like it before. Would bang again. Miss you Dr. Carroll.

Hazy reddish-copper with a foamy off-white head, this beer smells fusile of pine, grapefruit and just fire. It tastes super bitter and hot, much like an unbalanced barleywine with some caramel notes. I think, at the very least, they drastically missed the mark, style-wise.

On tap at half acre taproom. Citrus nose up front. Taste follows nose. Hints of grapefruit. Heavy on the hops. Excellent. Hope they put out for distro soon.
