Notes: Dungeons IPA focuses on the heavy use of Mosaic, Waimea and Simcoe. All tangerine and strawberry with very little bitterness, it's a true shark biscuit's dream.

Picked up a can at Tin Bucket the other day.

The beer pours a hazy golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, I pick up considerable tropical fruit, orange citrus and light pine. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, but the malty sweetness just struck me as a bit much and out of balance. There's some hoppy bitterness on the palate, but it really isn't enough to counter the sweet malt in this beer. The alcohol is a bit more noticeable than I was expecting as well, and this beer seemed pretty boozy for a 7% abv IPA. Mouthfeel is medium bodied to full, with some noticeable heat from the alcohol on the finish.

A decent IPA, but not as good I was expecting, coming from an IPA/APA master like half acre. Not sure this is an IPA I'll want to try again any time soon.

-spiegelau ipa glass.

A: Bright and juicy tang orange colored body is dense with a bready textured head atop. Standing 0.5 inches with a moderate rate of stay provides a good lasting appeal atop a juicy colored body. Strong lace adhesion along the vessel walls. Really love the bright, almost pastel coloring.

S: Perfumy and sweet citrus-lime accents are backed with some yeasty applesauce and wet juicy pear. Tropical and orange notes with a soft background of grassy onion hops.

T: Juicy tropical nature, pineapple orange, first comes about with some fresh wet greenery. Apples and white grapes and some breakfast fruit is fresh and wet with some soft grapefruit flowery notes. Light tart oranges, very flavor forward, a ton of whirlpool I'm guessing with some resiny citrus juices. Spicy onion-grassy fade.

M: Dense orange juice like body, spicy tropical delight.

O: Wet tropical flavor forward flavor has a fruity and sweet nature and is very drinkable. Grapefruit melon, oranges, and pineapples with a pleasant perfumy aroma makes for a strong a favorable first impression that keeps you enticed throughout the entire drink. Great spectrum of flavor, wet and juicy flavor, mouthwatering and outstanding as an N.E. ipa.

Thanks to 4truth for this 16 oz. can…only one left in the fridge. Guess I better review it before it’s just a faded, drunken memory. Though I do have lots of those. Pieces of those.

The pour is old-school IPA, golden copper, opaque without looking like it’s been mixed with whole fruit. Big white head, enough to fill a few ounces worth of the glass. Nose is soft but appealing, like a bowl of bruised fruit from across the room. A small room.

Dungeons is really nice up front, but something has to be done about the walking away part. Nice moderate bitterness is cut by sweet mango, rough grains, citrus, & some orange rind. Touch of almost rye-like spiciness right at the itchy end. There’s a noisome dankness on the back end when it’s cold that fades & almost vanishes once it approaches room temperature; there’s a corresponding rise in its score. Dry. Really easy to slug.

So many beers in 16 oz. cans don’t belong there – this one does. I can see this on the deck, by the grill, on top of the snowblower…lots of places. A very good IPA that doesn’t demand too much of the forebrain but engages plenty of the taste buds. Nice.

16oz can, "WELCOME HOME OLIVER 06/22/18" is stamped on the can. Hazy apricot colored ale with a foamy off-white colored head. Nice juicy tropical hop aroma of mango, orange, and pineapple. Complex flavors meld well together with notes of pineapple, citric tangerine, fruit cocktail juice, piney mango, pear, strawberry, very light caramel, and maybe some wheat. Creamy and smooth, pleasant carbonation, modestly bitter finish. A fruit cocktail IPA of sorts - very good flavors and quite unique. The brewer mentions "all tangerine and strawberries" in its description - I get that. Not the most bitter IPA but I find it to be very refreshing and easy to drink.

16 oz. can. Bright orange and a little hazy. Smells of orange, tangerine, some bright fruitiness, and biscuit malt. Tastes of tangerine and tingly zesty hops. A little bit of biscuit malt. Not too sweet, but very low bitterness. It does have enough of a garlic hop bite in the back end to keep it drinkable, though. Medium body. Good.

16oz. can into Night Shift stemware.

Nose is citrus, cantaloupe, papaya and cane sugar. Aromatic. Big tropical fruit notes. Beer opens citrus, grapefruit, pine and grass. Very fresh. Nice balance. Rounded hop presence in the back reminds me of melon, papaya and cantaloupe. Finishes with the slightest grassy bitterness. Body is light with moderate carbonation. Prickly on the palate and goes down aggressive. Zesty, accented finish with a dry, lingering aftertaste.

There's not a singular flavor that dominates here. Very balanced with a mellow bitterness in the back. Definitely worth trying.
