Notes:
Bodem is a new bedrock IPA for Half Acre. It’s how we’re feeling about go-to IPA in today’s spectrum of plants and brewing perspective. Idaho 7, Mosaic Cryo & Cashmere spread over a silk-rich grist. Ripe tropical fruit flesh with soft melon and berry.

Poured from a 16oz can with a canned on date of 5/28/19; into a pub glass.
Appearance- gold with lots of carbonation bubbles and floating funk; medium, thin frothy white head that leaves significant foamy lacing!
Smell - grass, herb, and mixed berries.
Taste - some stone fruit blends with the notes from the nose to make this very flavorful, but not overdone!
Feel - classic feel with ideal bitterness and drinkability!
Overall- a touch pricy, but certainly worth a grab!

Nice bright straw with a rather average white head, but good lacing.
Good dank tones, earthy, some fruitiness. Pungent.
Juicy, fruity aspect, nice balance of bitterness with a good level of sweet.
Crisp clean mouthfeel , no lingering aftertastes.
Too much abv for a session, but easy to sit back and enjoy a few.

16oz can, date stamped "04/18/19 LAVA LINE". Mildly hazed amber body with a foamy ivory head. Earthy piney aroma with citrus and mango. Flavorful IPA with juicy notes of tropical mango, grapefruit, apricot, peach, Mandarin orange, and floral honey on a caramel malt base. Medium body, smooth carbonation, moderately bitter finish. Very good, as expected from Half Acre.

Four-pack copped from Wine Rack in Millburn. Pours a golden, effervescent hue with moderate frothing. Rendolent aroma replete with notes of raw sugar and molasses. Similar overall flavor profile.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
Price: $2.79
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: April 30, 2020
Consumed: May 1, 2020
Misc.: Canned on March 27, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. CT
Grabbed this with a ton of others on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. It’s not often you see Half Acre in San Diego, so I jumped at the chance of having this without even reading about the beer. Only looked to see if it was somewhat fresh. Online description calls it, “Our newest bedrock IPA, Bodem represents how we’re feeling about go-to IPA in today’s spectrum of plants and brewing perspective. Idaho 7, Mosaic Cryo and Cashmere spread over a silk-rich grist.”
Poured a light amber clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of off-white frothy head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass at very fast speeds. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Mosaic and the Idaho 7 right away. Also viney berry, trash, floral, melon, Juicy Fruit, stone fruit, herbal, wet pine, perfume and lemon zest. Much of the same from the can with Mosaic, Idaho 7 and floral leading the way. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted at least as good as the nose. Not a lot of bitterness in this. Got Mosaic, Idaho 7, trash, Juicy Fruit, floral, melon, stone fruit, lemongrass, herbal, wet pine, perfume, red apple and lingering peppery spice on my lips. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Clean finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Wow. Really dug this one. Just an excellent IPA. (Overall - 4.25)

16 oz can bought from Binny’s and poured into a pint glass. Orange and slightly hazy look with some lacing. Taste of orange, grass, and pine. Very smooth with a slight bitter finish. This is enjoyable and hits the spot. This does not stand out a whole lot to me from the rest of the crowd but it’s a good find every now and then. Another good one from Half Acre.

Papaya, melon...a certain grassiness in the nose maybe. Pours fine for an IPA. More melon and maybe a bit of guava and maybe starfruit? Lots of tropical fruit flavors as advertised. Bitterness...this beer is bitter enough but has and extended fruity finish that's a bit of a dance between bitter hop resins and fruitiness. A very good "standard" (meaning non-hazy) IPA. Really good, but I have the advantage of living just a few blocks from the brewery...
I'm an old dude, so I kind of like how this one is a mash up between old school and new school IPA. Half Acre does really good hoppy beers. They do really good beer in general. They were my very favorite brewery about 10 years ago and they're still high up on the list.
