A - Light golden orange body, with only a slight cast from full transparency. White head pours big and pillowy, but reduces quickly to a thin cap that persists. The lacing is full.

S - Herbal elements, grass and floral hints from the hops, with a honeyed element underlying.

T - Following the nose, the hops are not particularly fruity, tilting toward the floral namesake and grass and herbal shades. If there is a citrus element, it is primarily lemon zest, but it is subtle. The middle comes with a full malt thread, strong cracker note, and mild sweetness suggestive of a nice dinner roll. The close brings a hop bittering element, scrubbing off the sweetness.

M - Brisk and well carbonated, with a robust drying in the close that builds slightly as the beer is finished. Still, given how dry it finishes, the build is kept minimal and does not overwhelm.

O - One of the better pale ales out there, Daisy Cutter offers big hops from another perspective. Rather than a fruit bomb, it goes floral. In fact, I cannot think of another pale ale or IPA that is more clearly dedicated to exploring this aspect of hop esters. As such it is an innovative and delicious alternative, and one I seek out when I am in the Chicago area.

Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch head with a slightly hazy, amber body. Very nice lacing that sticks around for the duration. Nose of citrus throughout with a bit of pine appearing occasionally as it warms. Taste mirrors nose. Mouthfeel is adequate. Overall, a very nice IPA!
