16 fl oz. can, with no apparent canned on date present. Finally acquired a four pack of this stuff from the local beer store. Don't ask me why it took two years for these beers to finally show up in my area. My first beer from Half Acre Beer Company. Expectations are great, based on this beer's current high ratings.

Poured into a Spanish Peaks Black Dog Ale pint glass.

A - Pours a lightly cloudy light orange colored body with lots of fine sediment suspended in the glass. About three big fluffy bubbly fingers of off-white foam. Leaves some moderate fat lacing behind. Looks very nice.

S - The smell is on the lighter side, but it is befitting of the style. Crisp lemon pith, citrus rinds, grapefruit, and some bready biscuit malt presence.

T - The taste is spot on for the style - lightly bitter hoppiness - lemon, grapefruit, pine, & crisp clean bready malts. Maybe some light grainy / rye sort of character on the end, with some very mild metallic presence.

M - The feel is crisp, clean, and smooth. Perfect balance of bready malt and bitter hop resins. Light-bodied with perfect carbonation.

Overall, an excellent example of what a well-done American pale ale is all about. Nothing over the top, but perfectly balanced, smooth, and nearly crushable with a moderate 5.20% abv. I am definitely looking forward to trying more from Half Acre.

Pours an unfiltered orange color with a white head that leaves some lace behind. The aroma is piney, citrusy and herbal. In the taste, more citrusy tropical notes, solid bitterness and floral touches. Daisy Cutter is an apt name for this bomb of hop flowers. Bitter and resinous, with a dry hop bite and biscuity malt profile. Medium, smoother body with a medium high carbonation. Overall, this is a classic pale ale, better than most IpAs.

On tap at Tiny Lounge in Chicago, about a block from the source.

A: Deep orange in color with two fingers of foamy, off-white head.

S: Fresh cut grass, floral hop character.

T: Light, floral hoppiness melded with a dry, toasty malt backbone that keeps everything in perfect balance.

M: Bitter, effervescent carbonation that seemingly becomes more pronounced as the beer warms.

O: A solid, repeat drinker, and arguably one of the best pale ales coming out of Chicago proper.
