I've had this beer a few times from various growlers, but this review is from my own purchased on Sunday. Second runnings of the Big Hugs base beer. Served in a pint-sized taster glass.
A - Pours with a finger of tan foam that dissipates to a thin cap and leaves spotty lacing. Dark body reveals mahogany highlights and transparency when held to the light. Maybe a little lighter than Guinness.
S - Roasted malts, multi-grain bread, cocoa, caramel, a touch of coffee, and some pungent earthiness. Sweeter and more intense than the usual Irish Dry, this almost verges on Foreign/Export territory.
T - Taste is a little less exciting, with more char and less sweetness. There's some light cocoa and vanilla in the periphery. Finishes pretty clean like a good session stout should.
M - Dry and light in body, with light residual stickiness. Slightly zesty carbonation that proves to be a bit gritty. Screams from nitro-tap.
D - Super easy-to-drink session dry stout. One of the more rich and flavorful beers of this style that I've had. I could definitely drink a lot of this one.

Poured from a 64oz growler into a 20oz imperial pint.
A: Pours a thin and rather lifeless black with ruby tints at the edges. Not much in the way of head and no lace to speak of.
S: Very nice nose full of roasted grains, dark chocolate, oats, and a bit of citrus.
T: Just as above; toasted grains, dark chocolate, oats, citrus, and now with a sprinkling of dark roast coffee and cocoa.
M: Dry, thin, and watery...perfect for the style. Nice bit of dry roastiness that coats the tongue and actually gets a bit peppery long into the finish.
D: Thin and dry and delicious. A style that I'm not too fond of, but I figured if Half Acre is making it, I'm going to try it. I'm really glad I did.

A: pours a thin black with lots of ruby red highlights, no head, no lacing, some light passes through... on the lighter side of stouts
S: huge burnt/roasted notes, lots of barley, robust, coffee, very nice
T: a bit thinner than expected from nose but still nice easy drinking stout with lots of roasty flavors, much more flavor than anything else I have tried in the category
MF: thin, kinda watery high carbonation
D: very drinkable and tasty for dry stout
