Trying a bottle of Tasty Waves Pale Ale from Half Acre and the beer is GOOD! The beer pours a hazy straw golden color with thin white head that is lacing nicely. The scent is tangerine/citrus with pine along with hop bitterness. The taste has more pine than citrus, but it is a good balance. the bitterness comes in at the end and makes the taste hang on the pallet. Themouthfeel is a light medium body with good carbonation. Overall this is a pretty dang good beer.

(Served in a tulip glass)

A- This beer pours a hazy bright deep orange body with a strong carbonation of off-white head that is a bit bubbly on top.

S- The full hop aroma comes through during the pour with a herbal hop pellet and musty green aroma followed by some citrus juicy perfume hop notes and a fresh pale malt flavor peaking through before the orange peel and pungent green hop qualities finish the sniff.

T- The nice pale malt with a touch of biscuit malt soon give way to the citrus hops and a nice full pungent green hop finish that has just a touch of bitterness to it.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle fizz on the tongue that leads to a crisps finish that compliments the hop flavor.

O- This is a delicious full hops flavored beer with a nice big hop depth to it and good support by the malt flavors. Everything taste very fresh with just enough bitterness to compliment the hops yet not overpower them.

Admittedly bought this beer for the Endless Summer/Rocky Horror mashup label. It's pretty close to Daisy Cutter, with a different hop profile, and slightly more biscuity malt. Wait I have to write more?! ;)

Tall weizen glass with soapy foam coating the insides, foam lasts for a few minutes before fading to a frothy island in the center. Hazy, glowing saturated orange.

Pungent citric hops with some grass clippings and pale malt bleeding through, a la Daisy Cutter. Clean and pretty straightforward.

Bitter and grassy, fading into a bready multigrain center, ending on a bitter note of grapefruit rind. Sweet orange, segueing into the pale malts again, biscuity for a second, then a dry grassy finish. Light bodied, easily drinkable. Textbook style hallmarks with a nice hop presence throughout.

Drinking a growler sample side by side with a can of Daisy, in a blind test it was virtually indistinguishable.

Poured from a bottle into a goblet.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy light amber with some yellow. There is a finger of white head that fades to a ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell: Bitter citrus peel hops, some juicy pineapple and tangerine. Light and crisp malt is in there too, but the hops are the star.

Taste: Just like the smell thank goodness. A good amount of light malt balances out some really nice hop bitterness. This is definitely one I would have again. Bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with tingly carbonation and a dry finish.

Overall: Really good beer. Reminds me a bit of the Daisy Cutter. Would definitely have more given the chance.

22 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass.

A- Pours a hazy light gold with a two finger head that slowly dissipates in a thin cap and leaves some spots of lacing.

S- Tropical fruits including mango and pineapple with citrus zest, grass, biscuit malt and floral hops.

T- Follows the aroma with tropical hops including mango, pineapple and peach, citrus notes of pink grapefruit, lemon zest and orange. Pine and grass follow after with some biscuit malt.

M- Low carbonation for a pale ale with a medium body. Finishes dry.

O- Somewhere a cross between Daisy Cutter and Zombie Dust. It certainly was one of the better Half Acre offerings recently, but $10 for a bomber was a bit steep for me, especially when you can get a six pack of ZD for $12. Worth trying though.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into two pint glasses. Thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist!

A: Pours a perfectly hazy pale gold with snatches of suspended sediment. About 2 fingers of creamy, bright white head spring up before quickly melting down to a thin collar. No lace was left behind.

S: Hmmm. Sort of Daisy Cutter-esque with a stronger malt presence. Quite bright and fruity with hints of cut grass and berries. **Note** Got to try a bunch of this on draft at the Half Acre pop up cheese shop yesterday and noticed that it's way grassier in the nose compared to the bottled version.

T: See above. Just slightly maltier than Cutter. Which is awesome.

M: More malt means a fuller and smoother mouthfeel compared to Daisy Cutter. Very nice!

O: I hate to keep comparing it to DC but that seems like a jumping off point for this. A valiant attempt to keep summer around for a few more days...

A - Pours a orangish yellow color with some some brown highlights. White head that faded to some slight spots and a partical cap.

S - A bit of rye spice, tropical fruits, nice malts, a little grassy.

T - Nice malts and crystal rye. Hops are a good mix between tropical fruits and resin bitterness. Good stuff.

M - Medium bodied with great carbonation.

O - Nice beer, real easy drinker, and if you like a slightly more bitter APA, this one is for you.

Thanks for the bottle, Richard.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow color with a big, soapy white head. Plenty of citrus and floral hop notes with only a subtle bread/malt aroma. Pretty simple aroma, but quite nice. The flavor has lots of citrus flavor and a bit of floral character with a soft but sufficient bitterness. A light malt sweetness in the background. Light bodied with medium carbonation.
