L - deep reddish brown, two finger khaki head leaves some nice lacing
S - chocolate, roasted grains, vanilla
T - follows the nose, nicely balanced hop bitterness
F - moderately high carbonation, rich yet highly drinkable
O - balance is the most impressive thing about this beer, would gladly pound a 4-pack if it were offered

This is a very good Porter. Straightforward, no special flavorings, just a good drinking beer. And at 6.0 abv you can have a few. Another solid beer from Half Acre.

The Chub Porter was a solid beer and highly recommended for those that like porters. It poured an opaque dark with white head that left some lace. The scent had coffee, vanilla, earth and a touch of anise. The taste followed suit. The Mouthfeel was fuller in body with good carbonation. Overall this was a great beer.

Pours dark brown/black with a rather noticeable red hue when in light and a beige(?) thin head.

Notes of chocolate, wood, and rather muted hints of dried fruit.

The dried druit aspect (I suspect prunes) is definitely more noticeable and balanced with silky smooth chocolate.

Mouthfeel is silk like that does not disappoint.

Overall, a mighty fine porter, but seems rather toned down from what I think it could be.

Bomber to mug, the appearance was a fairly dark brown color close to black with a sturdy finger’s worth of white foamy head that died off at a mild pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma had some roastiness with a little bit of malted milk chocolate and a little bit of nuts. The flavor copied the aroma pretty nice and bled into the aftertaste and finish as directed. The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sessionable sort of smooth feel along my tongue. Some carbonation was felt but not distracting. ABV felt fine. Overall, pretty nicely done porter that I could have again.

Draft served in a tulip glass.

Black with sticky tan foam. Billowing head, slow to deflate. Lasting chunky foam, lacing all around. Looks very nice in the glass, with the halo of intricate lacing.

Aroma is mellow and roasty, some coffee, fairly simple and straightforward.

Flavor is similarly straightforward, light roastiness, some light coffee grounds and unsweetened chocolate. Very smooth feel with a light bitterness. Light bodied, it disappeared pretty quickly. Overall very sessionable, and that's the point. Perfect light porter tailor made for the colder weather.
