Notes / Commercial Description:
We welcome the cold and greet these holiday-rich days with Quakerbridge Barley Wine. An incarnation of a Half Acre favorite, Marty Stouffer’s Wild America Barley Wine, this weighty beer is a choose-your-own-adventure experience. Freshly plugged, this beer is a hop guster to bring your holiday retreat to its knees, but time allows this brew to round and settle into an ever maltier bomb of balance. Whether your mug is beside a Thanksgiving gobbler or a holiday ham, let our bottled elixir join you and your family on its collision course of celebration. So, pull a cork and belly up to home – this hulk of a holiday hazer will settle any family retreat into a warming submission hold of mirth.

look: 4.25 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Pours dark amber nearly brown and clear in color. Head is thin, about half a finger and off white in color.

Smell is great has some crisp dark fruity hop aromas mainly cherries along with a sweet malty body that complements the fruity hops nicely.

Taste is great and follows the nose. There is a fruity and herbal hop bitterness forward that is followed by a big sticky sweet malty body. Malt and hops work nicely together.

Mouthfeel is good big sticky feel from the malt and hops is cut by moderate carbonation. Mild bitterness cuts sweetness and keeps this a good sipping beer.

look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Dark amber-caramel color. It has a heavy looking body and a huge dense tan head. Great lacing.

Piney and herbal hop aromas with brown sugar. Nice smells, just not very aromatic. I really had to huff this one to stimulate the olfactory nerve.

Super bitter with mild sense of astringency. Herbal, piney, caramel and brown sugar.

Hefty body moderate carbonation, mouth puckering.

Overall, a decent barley wine. Hopped up but overly bitter and astringent.
