Can dated 3-19-19. Pilsner glass.

A: pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with two fingers of rocky bright white head and streams of tiny bubble carbonation. Some spotty lacing. I don’t like haze in a Pilsner. Call me old-fashioned.

S: some lager yeast and floral hop aromas if you look for them. Even after 10 minutes out of the fridge the smell is still somewhat muted.

T: bang! Makes up for it there. Sweet, bready, slightly sulfury Pilsner malt leafs the charge, with strong but restrained noble hops popping up mid palate and lending a mellow bitterness at the end. This is easy drinking Pilsner beer.

M: moderately chewy, lighter end of mid weight, lager crispness, higher carbonation but well within the style.

O: an easy drinking yellow fizzy beer with a whole lot more going on than your standard AAL, and appropriate to the style levels of hoppiness. If I lived in Chicago, I would drink this a lot. But I can find better local and imported to scratch this itch for the money.

Appearance: Pours a pale, lemony color with a strong, crispy head.
Aroma: Strong aromas. Lots of lemon and grass. Some sweet tropical orange, pineapple, and peach aromas too.
Flavor: Very grassy, but some slight deep, dank, sweetness too. Lemon and orange citrus. Bitterness is attenuated. Not too much pepper. Definitely a sulfur smell too. Almost a rusty flavor. Pale cracker malts.
Feel: Crisp and clean. Medium bodied, undercarbonated. Malt focused and leans sweet on the palate. No bitter astringency.

Overall: Not really a fan of this one. I definitely like the citrus hop twist. Must be some American hops in here too. But It is undercarbonated and lacks yeast or hop bitterness so it sort of has the flat, juicy sweetness to it. Lemon and citrus flavor are too forward and it lacks any zest or bite. Strong flavors though for a pilsner.

1/17/19 (Chicago): $11.01 16 oz four pack canned 12/21/18 purchased at Half Acre Brewery on 1/9/19. Multiple pours into flute glass, light clear blonde pour, mild carbonation, fluffy white puffy head leaves generous lacing. Beautiful malt, bread and spicy pepper aroma, very nice blend. Rich bread malt peppery taste. Carbonation holds well, dry mouth feel, very crisp and clean finish. Overall excellent Pilsner.

Well hot damn. What to expect when you are expecting...wait, what? No, Raul ain’t pregnant. But before I even dipped this bad sucker, I kind of already expecting what it would be like. And was Raul wamboozled? He was! This little son of a gun is a lot better than what your main main expected. Cuz let’s be real: it’s rated kind of low. But it’s not skunky like the last sack of bubble kush that you bought, and it’s not metallic like the heard of your girl’s Jetta. It’s like, just above average. And for Raul that’s super! Sip on Pony all day long? My saddle, hop on it! Yes sir!

Hazy straw yellow color. Moderate starting head from a steady pour from the can. After the first chunky ring of lace, the glass has sporadic spots for lace.

Grainy, raw barley initial smell. I also pick up on the pilsner malt--clean aroma. Light floral hop.

The barley starts the flavor with a lightly sweet tongue. The hop is stronger in the taste than the smell but provides balance more than anything else. Richer body than most Pilsners but the carbonation is solid. The aftertaste leans to the bitter. Overall, this is a very easy-to-drink, but still very flavorful throughout the taste.

Can. Pale gold with light chill haze and small head. Crackery grassy head with hints of vanilla and honey. Medium grainy honey sweetness with real noble herbal medium bitterness. The finish is just delicious. Light body with fine carbo. TOTALLY FUCKING EXCELLENT.

16 oz. can. Mostly clear golden body. Smells of bready malts, light spicy hop, and a little green apple. Taste has a slight green apple too. Pretty malt-forward, which I like. Bready and a little sweet. Back end is floral and spicy hops with a little bitterness. Hefty compared to other pilsners, as its malt profile isn't shy, but not what I'd called heavy. Pretty good.

Smooth, full taste. Nice light color but not watery looking.

I had several pilsners on a recent trip to the Czech Republic and found many of them too bitter for my taste- I prefer wheat beers and other lighter beers. However, Pony Pilsner has a smoother flavor, with less bitterness than other pilsners.

Appearance: Arrives clear and golden colored with a one finger head that fades to a ringlet; splashy lacing

Smell: Bready with a cracker bent; grassy and somewhat spicy

Taste: Bread forward with the grassy hops picking up the middle; crackers in the finish with some lager twang

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A decent, straightforward pils

16oz can dated 06/04/18 poured into a pint glass shows a clear yellow-gold body with active rising bubbles and floating a 1/4in white foam cap that lasts.

Aroma is cereal grain.

Flavor is a classic pilsner beer.

Mouthfeel is crisp and clean.

Overall exactly what I want in a summer beer.

Clear, bright gold body; lively carbonation; one-finger thick head. Cracker and biscuit malt scent; mild spicy hoppiness. Mild toasted grain flavor infused with light fruity hop bitterness. Light body; crisp; mostly dry overall.

An all-around solid, tasty pilsner. Strong points go to the aroma and taste. Refreshing, classic beer styling.

This is a really good beer...and under-rated on BA. This beer is true to the style...a nice clear yellow with a nice white head, which was well retained. The taste is a very accurate of the style...the beer was very smooth and refreshing. If I lived somewhere were I could get it regularly, I would.

16 oz can poured into an imperial pint glass, the beer is a light yellow with a massive white head.

To me, the beer has an aroma of grains, crackers and some light spice notes.

I like this one, it has a slightly mineral/acidic/sour bite that reminds me of a Pilsner Urquell. There are semi-sweet grains, a bit of honey like sweetness, some peppery hops and biscuits and minerals in the finish. Seems more Czech than German but either way it is tasty.

The mouth is medium thickness with a bit of a coating quality.

I'm a fan. I would like to try this on tap and think it is an easy beer to pair with food.

Crisp indeed - drinking a two month old can poured into a Pilsner glass. bubbles in a golden straw body stay lively after the pour. Nice lacing. Nose is just a bit doughy with some grassy notes. Lays on the mouth just enough to lend some balanced sweetness ahead of a dry hoppy note. Just enough of a linger. Crisp enough with some nice appropriate sweetness

Pint on draft. Served in a pint glass. Pours a clear golden yellow body, one and half finger white head, short retention, good lacing. Smell is biscuit, crackers and grain, light zesty hops and minerals, just a trace of sulfur. Flavour is crackers, grain, mineral, pilsner malt, light noble hop presence, a bit of citrus and lemon even. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, crushable, good carbonation, good depth to it.

16oz can into a pint glass. packaged 8/8/16, so about a year old.

pours a hazy pointing toward cloudy yellow with hints of yellow body. Good foamy white head which persists in some form all the way down. Good lacing as well.

Not getting much of anything on the nose, faint yeast is all.

A good honest mouthful on this warm day reveals a medium bite and a sour aftertaste. likely the age has not helped this one, but its still a decent enough drink.

mouth is above medium, finish is quite sour.

Overall, a decent thirst quencher, would prefer the sour aftertaste was dialed back a bit, but that may be age related. did the job for me while cleaning out the basement.

My parents came up and visited myself and my wife just recently so we took them out to a new beer bar in the suburbs. It was a blasted hot day so I figured a good, light bodied beer was in order.

This beer pours a slightly hazy (possibly chill haze) golden hue that is topped with a white, foamy head that dissipates slowly to a thin lacing. A high amount of carbonation is easily visible with bubbles racing to the top. 3.75/5 The aroma is typical of the German Pilsener style with grassy, noble hops, peppery spice, and a good amount of light grain. There is a light lemony zest to the aroma that is quite nice as well. 4/5 The flavor profile is just like the aroma with light grains, grass, pepper, and lemon all coming out nice and strong. All seem to work quite well together here. Bitterness is moderate and lingers for quite some time after swallowing. 4/5 This is a crisp, clean, drying beer that is light in body. The dryness sticks around for a good while after swallowing. 4/5 This is really a very good representation of the German Pilsener style, albeit with a bit more lemon than I deem to be normal. However, the lemon is a nice addition to this beer and gives just a little extra umph in the flavor profile. 4/5

Pours a bright straw color with a little fog in the transparency. Two fingers of foamy, white head retain well, leaving behind a few dots of lacing. Aroma is yeast spice, biscuity, bready malts, and a hint of banana. Flavor profile is smooth biscuity, bready malts, with a twinge of spicey yeast in the background. Mouth feel is a little effervescent, with a surprisingly thick consistency for a pilsner. It carries a presence. Overall, a tasty, simple drinking beer. Well crafted.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 16oz can.

Nicely put together Pils, but more in the Czech tradition than Bavarian.
Looks golden and enough foam, but not as clear as I am used to.
Smells mostly malty, but the hops have a firm presence.
Tastes refreshing, but the bittering hops really come on too strong to let the malt inter-play.
Feel suffers for that reason which is too bad because Pony starts soft, but it cannot compete with the hops.
I will have this again as quaff to refresh on a hot summer day, possibly with mild food.

Can from ABV.

A clear light yellow with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is solid too - grainy, snappy , firmly hoppy with lemon, mint and some earth. This is present on the palate as well, along with a mild grainy and slightly caramel-like sweetness. Crisply carbonated with a clean finish that's mildly bitter with earth and mint, this beer is solid.

I bought this to try something different than the amazing Daisy Cutter this brewery makes. I am a big fan of tall boy four packs like this. Its perfect for a quick pickup to meet a friend with some pizza! I was impressed. Not normally a hige pilsner guy but this might be favorite pils yet! Its not as good as Daisy Cutter 7/10. Good beer! Very cool can art!
