Style: American Imperial Pilsner

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Brought to life using a lager yeast strain, this beer is a sensory pounder. Ignoring the idea of a traditional lager balance, Guest Lager hops the line and intentionally scales the flavors tied to the ale spectrum. This 8% ABV style bender wrangles an impressive canon of flavor into one place. Did we mention hops? This particular lager hosts enough Nelson Sauvin & Falconer's Flight to soothe any weary traveler.

This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Pours a pale clear yellow orange with a light haze. Lots of drippy lacing and a frothy collar around the edges of the glass. Lasting skim on the surface.

Pungent and hoppy, getting a Nelson Sauvin sweet lemon tea note, a fistful of resiny greenery, vague sandalwood.

Resiny bitter hops, orange peel, citric and oily hop vibes. A vague fruity sweetness flashes quickly before segueing into a long resiny bitterness in the middle and lingering into the aftertaste. Some trace lager yeast character. Light bodied and super hoppy. Overall very drinkable considering the abv. Paired well with Rutger Hauer in Blind Fury.

On-tap at Half Acre's Taproom. Served in a 5oz taster glass.

A - White foam settles to a thin cap, thicker collar, and splotchy lacework. Transparent pale golden body.

S - An abundance of hops here, with a delicious mix of tropical fruits, grapefruit peel, and hints of chive and cattiness. Malt character is very understated and neutral, with perhaps a hint of cracker to it. No perceptible alcohol.

T - The taste is similar, with a massive amounts of pine and citrus peel and perhaps less of a tropical emphasis. Again, malt is understated with hints of sugar and cracker in the periphery. Bitterness is on the lower end of medium, and the finish is crisp, clean lager.

M - Medium body that's perhaps a tiny bit watery for 8%. Lower carbonation, no alcohol presence, and a clean, crisp finish with only a mild dose of lingering oily hop resins. Goes down super fast.

D - Great beer, and totally on point for summertime. I could crush a 16oz can of this no problem. May have to go back and attempt to skirt the one 4-pack limit on this one. Wish I'd gotten a pint rather than the taster.
