This is by far my favorite place. The wine and whiskey selections are legit. The beer selection is even better! Go into the cooler...it is a frozen claustrophobic adventure of beer! The Belgian section is awesome. Almost every time I go in there, and that is weekly, I find something that is on the difficult to locate list. The people who work here are no less than great. They are top of the line people working in a top of the line store. I highly recommend this place!

One of the best liquor stores I’ve visited, period. Fantastic selection. Casey, Jester King, Weldwerks, etc. Fantastic selection from Belgium...Blaugies, Boon, Tilquin, and so on. Good amount of glassware, too, which is always a plus.

Parking can be kind of a hassle, but it's worth it. This place is bigger inside than it looks. They have a pretty wide selection of craft beer including some rare stuff as well. They had a large selection of wines as well. Walk-in cooler was stocked with top of the line stuff. Prices seemed pretty reasonable as well. The employee took the time to walk with me and point out some stuff I might be interested in. Clean and spacious and modern inside, friendly people and a great selection. Hard to go wrong with this place. If I could "ding" anything, their mix-six cooler was a half-hearted effort consisting of macros, malternatives, and rejects from broken 6-packs.

This is a solid liquor store with a wide selection of wine, liquors, and beer. A good make your own six pack with local brews and can get some rare and limited selections such as Pliny the Elder. Friendly staff combined with good selection makes this a good choice in a liquor store.

Great store with a great reputation. Excellent selection of spirits and craft beer, and a great selection of imports. This store is definitely on the list for limited allocations, and they have a history of pulling in new and exciting things before anyone else in the area.

Easily the best beer shop in the Denver area. They are always sure to stock the latest and greatest brews, just remember that they may not always stick around for very long. Andre is extremely knowledgeable and will give you impressive recommendations for days. I've never been steered wrong. Prices can be a little higher here, but you'll find some great beer you can't get anywhere else, especially when it comes to imports

Stopped by this wine and spirits shop while on a trip to Denver from my town in Colorado. I needed to use their ATM but it gave me some error message and ripped me off 80$. The owner was notified and he made a phone call to them right away. He gave me a 10$ gift card for the hassle of the whole deal. This goes a long way in my book. I would have been happy with the phone call alone. Anyhow, to the beer. They have a decent selection of local and non-local brews. The real gem is in the cooler. The shelves are filled with bombers after bombers and I even came across some Eclipse. Did I mention that they had just received a batch of Pliny? Only 10 days old!! My fiancée and I both took one home, since it was 1 per customer which I can respect. If you are in search of a few rare beers I recommend this place. The staff is super friendly and I could see myself making this my one-stop shop when i'm in Denver.

A-This store is medium-sized (for Colorado standards), clean, well-lit, well-organized, and friendly. You might not get the same, uh, neighborhood texture in Mile High that you get in Argonaut because Mile High is so solidly in the suburbs, but its a nice store. Bonus points for the store dog.

Q-Mile High scores well here with a great selection of high-quality local and import craft beers, as well as "shelf-craft" brews from around the country. The inventory rotates at a reasonable pace, which keeps the IPAs fresh.

Ser-The people at Mile High know their beers as well as anyone I have come across in Denver. They leave you alone if that is your preference, but they can also provide good recommendations if you're looking for help.

Sel-As noted above, they have a wide variety of Colorado craft, other American craft, and perhaps the highest quality, most diverse (although not the largest) selection of import craft beers. They really do a great job getting the one-off and rare releases from Colorado brewers. I have not perused their wine and spirit selection, but it looks sizable, too.

V-Prices here are in line with the rest of town. I have never found a screaming deal, but I have never felt ripped off.

A truly excellent store in an area where I'd say they're more or less unmatched.
Along the back wall there are a series of coolers with 6-packs and larger beer bundles. Nothing special here, but they clearly specialize in local beers and regional crafts.
However, where MH shines is their bomber area. While there are stores that are bigger, I don't think there's anyone who can match their selection of singles in the Denver area. Everything from German and central European imports (my Achilles heel) to sought-after Belgians, to local beers, to west coast regionals, to obscure imports I haven't seen anywhere else. They had a full 3 shelves dedicated to beers from New Zealand, which is pretty amazing when you think about it. They even have some exclusive beers that don't make it to other stores, which is a huge bonus.
In terms of service, their beer expert (Andre) can pretty much answer any question anyone will ever have as he's quite the beer geek himself. That's always a great thing, and I'm sure people seeking something new are in good hands. I had some wine questions and he was able to help me there, too. While not really a BA kind of thing, it's terrific to have a staff that knows their trade.
While not as big as some other stores, their bomber selection is as good as anyone's, and the store still covers nearly any base you might have.
Highly recommended and easily one of the top shops around.

This is my go-to bottle shop. While not the biggest selection in my immediate area, I consider it to have the best selection. They get all of the limited-release brews that come through town and have an amazing selection of Europeans, sours, etc. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and just downright cool. The "sneak route" parking in the underground garage is nice to avoid Target/Whole Foods traffic.

I go here once a week to make sure I don't miss anything. I don't see that pattern changing anytime soon!

This was my first spot on my hunt for beer treasures while visiting CO. Wasn't too impressed until i found the walk-in cooler with racks of bombers. Employee stocking beer stopped to help immediately. He made sure to point out a few things that nobody else in Denver was carrying yet. Had some great recommendations and seemed very knowledgeable. Make sure to stop by the tasting table as I found one of my new favorites there. i was mainly looking for some Pliny but they were out at the moment. I was told they get about a case every 5 weeks and sell it 1 bottle per customer. Even in states that carry Russian River it is tough to get a hold of. Overall very impressed with this spot and will definitely swing through every time I am in Denver.

Nice little shop next to Whole Foods, and make CERTAIN you go inside the cooler. Inside is where the large selection of singles & bombers reside, including corked 'n caged stuff. One of the staff members seemed authentic and knowledgeable, and not some self-styled connoisseur that I often get at retail places.

Parking was decent with the nice new garage and shared space with Whole Foods next door. Russian River specialty releases were represented well here. Some good local options were there, such as Dry Dock. Fair prices too, nothing crazy. Easy to get to right off of 6.

Stopped here on my trip to Colorado as my one and only bottle shop visit. Thankfully, this place met all expectations.

Located below a Whole Foods in a major strip mall complex, it would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it or knew of the location.

Big clean space, loads of wine and coolers with beer at the back. Walk in coolers showcase an additional wide variety Loads of locals featured along with some west coast stuff as well. Funkwerks, Ska, Dry Dock, Port, Elysian, Santa Fe, and Russian River were all among my purchases.

Andre and Chris were amazingly gracious with their time and quite friendly. Both walked me through their selection and talked about the beers and breweries. Neither could have been kinder. They were even gracious enough to pull a beer that had just arrived and not yet hit the shelves. Very cool guys and a nice vibe all around.

Prices seemed quite reasonable. One thing I really enjoy about being out west is how reasonably priced most IPA's are. I didn't pay over 10 dollars a bomber for anything hoppy. That's a real bear to pull off in the midwest on a regular basis. Overall, this was a really worthwhile stop and a nice friendly place.

A-- Much more wine oriented I thought. Beer was in the back and a small tasting table also. not a great location in Belmar.

Q-- Good quality products and clean and organized very well. Easy to find stuff.

S-- Andre is the man. Serious props. Very knowledgable and easy to talk to. Then again I have traded with him so a bit biased.

S-- Not a big cool room but WOW. Cuir, Belgian Yeti, 3F, Funkwerks, and a great selection of Belgian and Euro stuff. Most Gueze I have seen in the US in a long time when I have been back. Make a 6 pack was a bit not interesting but made up in CO and other bombers and 750's.

V-- Good pricing and good products. Quite serious about beer there, though a bit small. highly suggest if in Denver.

Stopped in here for my first time recently while passing through Denver. Being unfamiliar with the area, wasn't the easiest shop to find, but found it nonetheless.

The store has a nice layout, most of the store space is occupied by racks of wine while the beer is in the back. The back of the store is lined with coolers that are packed with 6-packs and singles covering all the major CO and other West Coast craft breweries. The gem is the walk-in cooler where one can find a great selection of singles from such breweries as New Belgium, Russian River, Port, and Lost Abbey. A nice selection of lambics, gueuze, and other fine offerings from Belgium and other European countries can also be found in the cooler. The highlights of my haul included RR sours, fresh Port Mongo, Funkwerks Saison, and some Fantome Hiver.

If you are in the Denver area, definitely stop by this shop. If I had one like it near me, I'd quickly become a regular.

Edit: I have recently been in touch with the shop through email about their stock, acquiring certain bottles, etc and have been amazed by the promptness of their responses (thanks Andre!) and service. It's really above and beyond. I really haven't experienced this type of service anywhere else.

Had to update my review after a bad experience. I'd been buying lambic and beer here on a weekly basis for two years before the change in beer guys (too bad Brad left). I thought my frequent purchases and friendly manner had built up some goodwill but when a rare batch of lambic came in it was kept very hush-hush and after the staff took their cut there was none left. When I complained I was told that the rare lambic was reserved for "customers who would appreciate it". Extremely poor service and I won't ever return.

Mile High is one of the better stores in Denver as far as I'm concerned. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Some of their beers are priced approximately $1 more than other shops which is my only complaint. They carry a very nice selection of lambic and gueuze which is rare around here. Cantillon, hanssens, 3F, boon, girardin, lindemans cuvee rene, I think they have all of the traditional gueuzes available. Occasionally they get beers that are very rare like funkwerks or golden city barrel aged stout. They also have a cool weimaraner dig chilling out. Great shop!

I stopped by this place on a tip from BA back in July. I walked in and headed straight to the back cooler where I was greeted by Brad? He was extremely helpful in finding the right brews to take back home with me (Some RR, Stone, and a bunch of local CO stuff). I was hoping for a tad more in the selection department, but I really couldn't complain. My little brother picked up a mix six that had a bunch of awesome things to choose from. This was about 10 minutes from Red Rocks, which is a plus if you are traveling in for a show and need some really good brews, I know I will!

On my way to a movie I stopped by here to see what they have. It took me quite a bit of time to find this place. Bel Mar is like a small city, and if you don't know the place you may get lost...especially at night.
Anywho, it's in the same structre as the Whole Foods, at the bottom level. Not a huge sign from the street view.
Nice place, a must stop if you live in this small city. Fair amount of wine and beer. The walk in cooler holds the single bombers and there are some on warm stand alone shelving to the side of the cooler doors. Nice selection, looks like some old stuff, too.
For the area it's a must stop, and you probably wouldn't have to go elsewhere. Not the best in Denver area, but up there.
EDIT: It looks like they expanded their bomber collection...and that's good

This place is great!

I had remembered reading about this place when I was driving by the other day and thought I would stop by and check it out. Small place but with a great selection! Had 2-3 coolers with 4 and 6 packs. Also had a walk in cooler with lots of bombers. Great belgian selection as well as Colorado and national brews.Talked with Brad who was extremely helpful and has a obvious love for beer. Brad keeps their website up to date with tasting notes and what they are just getting in stock. He was telling me they have big tastings every once in awhile but you have to get on the email list to know more. I'll be checking that out that for sure!

Also had a few beer glasses in case your into collecting those. Picked up a Duchesse de Bourgogne glass to add to my collection.

Definitely adding them on to my list of good beer stores in Colorado. Way to go Brad!

I checked out this place because I just happened to be grocery shopping at the Whole Foods that's above it. The store was worth the trip.

I'll get the most important part for me out of the way first. With only a handful of exceptions, all of the beer here is kept cold. The singles and large bottles are kept in a walk-in section of the cooler that's cold enough to make me want to wear a parka next time. The six and 12 packs are behind the more traditional glass doors. The store is quite dark on the inside, and the coolers are angled away from the windows to avoid direct sunlight. A very nice touch.

Overall selection is above average, if not outstanding. Most of the Colorado breweries are well represented. Out of state beers don't go much beyond the better known breweries. I did; however, find a couple of the more obscure Stone and Russian River offerings. Import selection is good, especially the Belgians. On a final note, the beers from the big three don't dominate the cooler space, leaving all that much more room for craft brews.

Mile High's prices are about on par with other Denver area stores. The number of items on sale was a pleasant surprise. On the Sunday I was there, only two people were working. They both seemed quite knowledgeable. In the end, this was a nice store to shop. Next time I'm at Whole Foods, I'll be giving them a visit.

I had to run some errands down in this part of town, so I decided to stop in and see if they had a couple specialities listed on their website. Unfortunately both were sold out, but they were in-demand, so I certainly don't blame them for that. I was a bit frustrated by the visit, though. First, the location is a bit of a nightmare - it is in the cluster that is Belmar, and to make matters worse it is in the same parking lot as the Whole Foods. This meant traffic was an absolute mess in the entire area. Once inside, the place looks nice - with the beer coolers along the back wall. Unfortunately it looks like the singles selection has outgrown the cooler space, so things are a bit of a mess. To browse the selection you are directly in the way of traffic in and out of the walk in cooler, and then there are several shelves mixed in back there - I couldn't tell which was supposed to be retail space and which was stock. Despite the disorganization, they definitely did seem to have a good selection. If I was local I'm sure I'd stop in more, but I don't see myself going out of the way to stop in again. The service score is lower to reflect the disorganization - I definitely have no critiques on selection or quality.

Been going to mile high for awhile now. Their selection especially for their size is very good and 85 percent if not more of it is craft beer. There is a walk in cooler with all their bombers and high end bottles than despite being smaller than tipsys is much more worth visiting. Even if they dont have something in stock they are more than willing to order it or even bring it in, chris is a huge Belgium freak and it shows in the stores 50 Belgian plus collection Their spirit collection is very nice as well and the staff is knowledgeable and is very helpfull in all aspects of the store, i dont know wine worth crap but wanted to buy a bottle for my mom i told them what kinds she drinks and they selected a wine she now buys from them on a regular basis. They cater to the higher end crowd but their prices on everything are fantastic
