Thin short lived beige head. Smell wasn’t as strong as the flavor turned out to be. Very nice bourbon barrel flavor. Wish I picked up a few more

22 oz bottle, the date notches don't make sense. Maybe August of 2014?
Muddy brown in color, only a thin head. Nice whiskey aroma, a bit of caramel and vanilla. Similar taste. Lingering aftertaste. Medium bodied, lower carbonation.

No formal review on this one, because I drank it last night. It's not a bad beer at all, I just think the barrel-aging somehow eliminated the complexity and character that makes the regular version so good and interesting. This tasted like a straight up American Barleywine to me. Meh.

Wonderful malty taste with a boozy kickback that will get your attention.
