Just picked up a four pack at craft beer cellar in Waterbury. In 16 oz can poured into a tulip. Nice darker golden color showcasing the malts, 2 inch head and leaves a nice lacing as I drank it. Clean nice clarity a nice looking beer. Smells of pine from the hops hits the nose first, subtle citrus notes and then a sweet breadiness. Beer hits the tongue and there's a lot of explosions happening in the taste buds starting with sweetness then quickly getting to the bitter hop flavors solidified by a boozey sweetness as the beer runs to a finish. A nice bitterness remains on the tongue after the beer leaves your mouth heading for recycling. Nice crispness and a smooth feel.

I liked this beer and it's a really solid dipa. You can tell what your drinking and sometimes I want a solid beer without hop explosions. I really think of rock art continues making this it will become a solid winner for them. Good job guys!

16 oz tall can, 12/20/16 on the bottom (OK, not the freshest sample at almost two months in the can.)

Pous hazed typical amber, nice look to the rocky and lasting head here. Leaves a load of very fine, copious and scattered fields of lacing. Nice looking brew

Bright and tropical nose with lime, oranges and resiny hop notes.

Enjoyable and dangeroulsy tasty brew...more tropical goodness in the mouth..more lime, more oranges and also grapefruit.....dank, complex, flavorful and quite delicious...nice job here by Rock Art...go to Vermont and get some more of this.

Drank straight from tallboy canned exactly two weeks ago so I cannot speak for look. Smells like piney tropical citrus, tastes like earthy mango pineapple. Absolutely stellar double ipa!

Look: Vibrant orange color, slightly hazy. Head is a little thin.
Smell: Nice dankness up front, backed with tangerine citrus. There is pine but it is somewhat obscured by a minty aroma that clashes with the other components.
Taste: Like the smell at first, though the mint character is less intrusive, followed by some sweet, slightly spicy malt and alcohol (though not that much for an 8% beer). Finishes with moderate bitterness that complements the malt.
Feel: Balanced and satisfying.
Overall: Very good beer, 1 or 2 minor faults. To make an analogy, if the top of the heap VT DIPA's are Tour de France winners, Twin Tip is a sturdy, reliable domestique.

edit: This year's edition is better than 2015/2016, much improved aroma and tastes even better. Marked up accordingly.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a bronzed to burnt orange to almost brown color with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Slim glossy lacing clings to the sides of the glass. The smell had bitter pine up front with a light orange rind-like bitter hoppy quality about it. Lemon rind with a light dried citrus pulp bleeds into the overall aroma. The taste was moderately bitter with a nice sweet underscore of the pine into the aftertaste and leaving a dry citrus rind-like finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable feel about it. Carbonation seemed good for a DIPA and still allowing a nice bitter harshness as a DIPA to pound on my tongue. Overall, for a DIPA, well, what’s not to love, of course it’s good!

Poured from a 16oz can into a Speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a hazy darker amber with a thin off white head.

Aroma is an intense lemon herbal with a slight bubble gum resinous note.

Taste matches flavor with a nice mouthfeel.

Delicious.

I purchased this because i have been impressed with their last couple ipa's. I was happy to see a skiing tie in in the name and can art. If this beer holds up it could be a winner for the brewery. The color is light and bright. A beautiful golden. The head poured white and thick, dissipating slightly. Aromas of pine and a balanced taste of citrus hops and malt. This is a very drinkable beer. Again I am impressed. Thank you guys!

Poured from a 16 oz can dated 03/01/2016.

Pours a cloudy golden amber color with a 2-finger white head. Leaves some good lacing, as well as a ridiculous amount of sediment. Looks like a beer snowglobe.

The aroma has some citrus up front; orange, pineapple, and grapefruit, then comes a slightly piney note. The back end has a spicy green pepper note. Reminds me a bit of Palate Wrecker.

The taste is slightly piney, with some sweet orange rind. The backbone is slightly spicy, like raw onions.

The mouthfeel is the best part of the beer. It's medium bodied with moderate carbonation. It's incredibly smooth and creamy. Just a faint lingering bitterness.

Overall, a solid DIPA. It's very smooth and easy to drink. Would love to try a fresher version.
