Named for those rugged people who work and play in the woods! This Gnarly Stout rises to the task, being a bit chewy and a hefty 5.8% ABV, cranking plenty of Challenger and Perle hops. The perfect days end for the Stump Jumper in all of us. Brewed with pale, crystal, black, chocolate roasted malts, oats, flaked barley, Perle and Challenger hops.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. The beer pours a dark chocolate brown color with creamy beige head of 3 cm that foams up. This foam fades slowly to a sturdy and clingy edge layer with some wispy surface islands.
The aroma on this brew is roasted malt and a little dark chocolate. Overall a fairly mild nose with no hop character that I can detect.
First sip reveals an average body with smooth texture and fine yet spacious carbonation. Physical traits make for an easy drinking beer.
Flavor is roasted malt, with a bit of coffee ground and some dark cacao flavors. The roasted note is a little drying and lingers long after each swallow. I dont get any hop character and there is no alcohol note either.
This is a straight forward roasted malt beer, that is good and easy to drink. It isnt a mindblowing beer but I dont find any flaws either.
