Notes: Our golden American ale has a crisp body and slightly dry, hoppy finish. This is a real treat for the beer lover. Pale, wheat and torrified wheat malts are used with Northern Brewer and Mt. Hood hops.

A - Golden in color (shocking) with a small white foamy head that quickly disappeared.

S - Slightly bready and spicy. Slight malt presence, no hops that I can detect. Smells like a wine almost.

T - Toasted malts with minor flowery hops to finish. Nothing really stands out in my opinion, tastes a bit bland. This tastes like someone's first homebrew if they didn't use enough ingredients.

M - Light with moderate carbonation.

D - Very sessionable but lacks any real flavor.

Overall, pretty disappointing. I've come to expect good things from this brewery, at least from the big beers I have purchased. Let's hope the rest of the variety pack makes up for this.

I found this one at the Equinox Resort's Marsh Tavern in Manchester Village, VT. Served in a tall pilsner glass.

Pours a pale yello with big white head that disappears quickly. Looks like any normal beer so far. Smell is light, with essentially just hops and nothing really to balance - has a rice nature to it that reminds me of Kirin.

Flavor has way too much of the rice - but also is overbalanced on the hops and not a whole lot in the way of flavor. It isn't bad though, its just a lacking, and not what you'd expect from a craft brew. Body is light, and its fine to drink, but nothing worth multiple drinks.

Pours a cloudy golden brown, slight amount of head, sticking around the top of the glass. Has a very sharp bitter taste in the finish, tart tasting, a little watery in the beginning, has a pretty strong aftertaste, not sure if I like it. Goes down ok, not anything jumping out at me, and a little lacking in the taste department for me.

Not one of the better beers I've had from Rock Art, a bit underwhelming, and nondescript.

(3.0) A: Clear straw-like amber colour with a soapy and oily head that quickly recedes.

(4.0) S: Cereals, faint bread, Belgian-like spices, and floral notes. Very aromatic with a good mix of variety.

(3.5) T: Lightly toasted grains, delicate malt backbone, lingering spices that emit a bit of heat (ginger-like), honey, and floral notes. Crisp and bitter. Good overall taste that is very drinkable and satisfying.

(3.5) M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation. A little oily with a generally clean profile.

(3.5) D: Very drinkable and a well done and pleasing offering from Rock Art.

A clear, gold colored beer with a smallish head. Not much lacing.

Aroma is very mild, light grainy malt, a touch of citric and grassy hops.

Very watery and muted flavor; mostly weak malt taste, cereal/breadiness, again, trace hoppiness, mostly of the citrus and grass variety, seems inconsequential and a bit boring.

Thin bodied with medium carbonation. Easy to drink but strangely not all that refreshing. Bland and disappointing throw-in to Rock Art’s mixed 12. More for the non-craft drinker, I’d think. Forgettable.

a golden ale far better than most, i am afraid this is way underrated here on BA. its a little different than the flavorless yellow water people seem to prefer in the style. it has some real malt flavor to it, maybe some oats or some toasted malt too, on top of the pale stuff, there are some layers here, and while its not the best beer from rock art, it certainly is better than its ratings and is always welcome in my fridge when the weather is hot. clear and shiny in the glass, but i like it best ice cold from the bottle. its refreshing stuff, fresh, and with more flavor than most of these, a slight bitter grassy hop note to the back end, nice and dry, and with a little more body than is common too. great carbonation, a slightly bready flavor running through it, and something that is easy to drink by the six pack. a nice break from the heavy ipa of vermont, something a little lighter but real well done. not sure why folks dont like this more, it has everything i need in the style. rock art is too often forgotten about with all the new and sexy beer coming out of vermont, these guys still make great beers.

Pours a golden straw with a thin line of head that dissipated quickly. The nose is too reminiscent of an AAL for my liking. The flavor is crisp and the finish is pleasantly dry.
