I just moved from Worcester area to Chelmsford and I have been scoping out the local beer places. Even though I head up to the Nashua/Hudson area regularly I wasn't familiar Ayotte’s. I noticed it on my new route to Nashua and figured it might be worth a try. I wasn’t expecting much in terms of beer selection, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Very solid selection and outstanding prices overall, especially compared to MA. My typical beer haunts have been Kappy’s in Fitchburg and Harrington’s in Chelmsford. Ayotte’s has almost the same selection and 6-pks are $1-$3 less while cases are ~$4-8 less than I’m used to seeing. I think I’ll be buying the bulk of my beer here due to the combination of value, selection and proximity. It would be nice if the cold selection was a little better,

I don’t know how helpful they are in terms of beer, but I rarely, if ever, find myself asking for help from store staff…that’s what BA is for.

Bonus for cigar smokers as well, as the name would suggest, they have a solid selection of tobacco products. I smoke the occasional cigar and I was overwhelmed by the cigar selection. I don’t frequent smoke shops so maybe my frame of reference is off, but this was one of the bigger humidors I’ve seen in a while. Hundreds of cigar labels to choose from. Prices on cigars are also equal or better than what I’m used to paying.

Not a destination type spot, but a solid all-around place to shop for beer and tobacco.

This store is down the street from where I grew up and I stopped there yesterday for the first time in a few years. This store is a state line market which means its perched on the border of Massachusetts in an effort to entice those from out of start to buy cheaper smokes and alcohol in my fair state. This usually means 30 packs galore and they do have a huge selection of those. What really impressed me is that they have put in maybe 60 feet of shelving dedicated to craft beer and probably carry every brand available in NH. Still had Bolt Cutter on the shelf. The pricing seemed on par or slightly lower than in other area stores. Service was non existent at 6pm on a Monday, the kid stocking the shelves saw me more than once and never offered assistance, but I didn’t really need any. The deli makes fresh subs and they were great years ago, but I didn’t sample this time. I will definitely stop by here again when in the area.

This is basically a stateline discount store. but they do have a very good selection of craft beers. Also the craft bottles 22s and 750s are in general a lot cheaper than almost anywhere else. 1-3 dollars cheaper. The service on the other hand is not all that great. its mostly high school kids that work there so they would not have any knowledge of the craft beers. If you asked for a recommendation it would probably be keystone light. Also i special ordered a keg for a ski trip, and when I got there to pick it up they said they didn't have it, but the distributor had dropped it off. They had sold it to someone else. since I had ordered several kegs and the trip was the next day I had to pick another selection or possibly drop the ball on the kegs. they didnt apologize or make an attempt to remedy the situuation. will never order a keg from them again.

Great place to buy beer and literally 1 minute from my house. They have an excellent selection of beer on the shelf, as well as in their coolers. I managed to find Life and Limb here when I couldn't anywhere else, which shocked me. The prices are very reasonable (4 pack of DFH's PSM is $16.50 in MA, $12.00 at Ayotte's). The staff is ok, but they don't really know a ton about beer, most of them are hires from the local high school and aren't 21 yet. The only thing that concerns me is that the beer on the shelf is typically covered in dust, which makes me feel like it gets neglected a bit.

Overall a great place to buy beer and to find some of the rarer stuff, but if you're looking for info on beer you might want to look elsewhere.

Heading south on Rte 3A, Ayottes is on the left of the road just before the state line...

In and to the right a bit, and to the rear... have about 2-3 aisles of warm stuff... and lots of it!!! Let me list a few... Harpoon Leviathan, Victory (Storm King $11.69), Smuttynose Big Biers ($4.99-5.59), Sammy Adams Imperials, Otter Creek, Brooklyn Brewing, Sam Smiths, Spaten/Franziskaner, Piraat, Petrus, Augustiner, Stone, Pennichuck... A verry nice selection!! A real nice bunch of options for local micros, plus UK, German and Belgian stuff... Prices were pretty decent, overall, too... Service? Gotta ask for help, ya know...

Zum Wohl!!!
