Nice full, long lasting head. Quite a bit of flavor for only 4.1 abv. Moderate hop and just a bit of funk present (first session IPA I've ever had that was a bit pleasantly funky). Must be the judicious use of "tangerine zest and natural flavors". I like this one.

Highly carbonated but presents tight little bubbles of white co2. Needs to be a slow pour but fun to watch it clear out. Nice foamy head that clings tight to the glass.color is a nice orange-to-maize. Lots to appreciate from a visual perspective.
Smell is citrus, not hoppy/grassy at all. Dense layer of foam above the persistent bubbles. Does not suggest IPA at all so the emphasis on "session" may mean this is a historically true interpretation and not the modern over-hopped variety.
Taste is surprisingly full flavored and complex to the point that it felt like there was some roasted grain that I'm sure isn't there at all. Topped up with more from the bottle and the head/bubble are still there in the second pour. Very lively indeed. This tastes to me like an IPA did back 30years ago before the hopheads took over.
Overall I think it's alright but by present day terms is probably more a pale ale than an IPA and doesn't really hit either category correctly.there's a syrupy aftertaste that throws it out of balance, especially if they're trying to call it an IPA. Glad I tried it and there are interesting things going on here but I think I'd just call it an American Session Ale and leave it at that.

375ml bottle -> snifter
orange color with a big foamy head. smell is awesome with aromas of fresh gala apples and awesome citrus notes. taste though disappoints...very bitter and dry and loses just about all the fruitiness that the nose promises. finishes "off". its okay but not what i expected and not like the other terrific swinglines. flavor just could not deliver here.
