Has an amber pour with a white-reddish head with a long retention time. Has tropical fruit aroma--mango--and some sugary malt caramel. Tastes of mango and pears with wheat.

Bottle purchased by a friend directly from the brewery. Seeing the ratings for this beer I can't help but wonder if the bottle I received is out of date or was exposed to extreme temperatures. Bottle consumed within 1 week of purchase. Surprisingly disappointed. Would like to give this one another shot in the future.

Draft (CO2), snifter

A – Medium amber, with some slightly gold hues. Off-white, even pinkish foam of an inch-plus with long retention. Very craggy. Beer is very clear.

S – Mango and papaya. Very light grapefruit. Some sweet caramel malt with light toffee. Light pear and green apple.

T – Definitely mango, guava, apples and pears. Lightly baked bread crust. Light caramel. Hops also contribute high hop bitterness.

M – Moderate to low carbonation, light sweetness and high bitterness. A juicy, but bitter finish.

O – Great flavor up front but the bitterness ends up a bit high, out of balance.

What an amazing beer! really was blown away when I was able to have it on tap in the brewery a few weeks ago. The unbelievable amount of IBUs are very well balanced with the sweet hop filled taste that leaves you wanting more. HOWEVER - I purchased a 750ml bottle on the way out and when I opened it up a few hours later, was greatly disappointed (I would have rated it much lower 3.25) - tasted like a completely different beer. Called the brewery and they didn't have a straight answer for the bottling date - told me to email the brewer about my concern and never heard back - 6/28/15 - attempt #2. bought another bottle from the brewery and this beer is not at all what I remember, giving this a final rating much lower than my original impression
