Tequila barrel-aged sour with salt and lime. An interesting twist to a margarita with notes of repsosado and an acidic finish.

No date on bottle. 375ml. Being a big fan of MasAgave this is pretty good in comparison. Head has an odd flavor. The beer itself has a good balance. My only complaint is the lime rind flavor instead of fresh lime juice. Most of these beers are well below 10% but this one sit up there nicely at 11.25

Dark brown. Great carbonation and cola head. Smells like a margarita. Taste like lime rind, salt, tequila, sour. This is one of those beers that I am glad I tried because it’s complex, well thought out, and atypical. I wouldn’t necessarily try it again.

Pours a murky amber brown color with white head leaving scattered lacing. Nose is mild sour tequila -smells like a weak margarita. Tastes pretty much like a weak margarita , not bad at all. Finish is mildly sourish with hints of lime and salt. Weird but I like it.

Tastes like a margarita-beer hybrid with a subtle but deep sour twist. Barrel aged brew w/o too much oakey flavor. Very unique brew that tastes more favorable as it reaches room temp. I particularly enjoyed the aroma.

375 mL bottle. Dark amber body. Smells of lime, some wine, and faint tequila followed by alcohol. Tastes of red wine throughout. Lime is there, but a little more subdued. Tequila rounds out the back end. Heavy and alcoholic. This is not a pleasant beer to drink.

Poured from a 12 oz cork'n'cage bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Cloudy mahogany brown pour. 1.5 fingers of off-white head. Falls quickly and leaves a rim of lacing.
S: Smells like a margarita... sea salt and lime, tequila and oak.
T/F: Lots of margarita character... follows the nose with strong tequila and lime notes. Definite salty component... some tart lemon/lime but not overly sour and there's some definite sweetness as well. Mild on the funk. The wine barrel character is also in the background. Noticeable mostly in the aftertaste with a bit of oak. Lighter than expected in body... somewhat creamy on the tongue. Warming, and it gets better as it comes up to room temp.
O: Very tasty... not overly sour, and kind of like a beer/margarita mixup. The flavor is nice though... the high ABV is well hidden, and this made a world class nightcap.

Poured into a Teku @ 55 deg. F
A: Dark brown w/ a light tan head that quickly settles to a ring. Light lacing.
AR: Sour lime, salt, subtle tequila, and a earthy coca-cola note
T: Follows nose, lots of sour salty lime, a light malt sweetness rounds out the finish and slightly bitter tequila lingers. Almost like drinking a margarita!
M: Subtly creamy, on the thinner side

I haven't been a big fan of Lost Abbey's recent foray into tequila barrel beers, but this strikes me as the most well balanced and smoothest of the bunch. While the lime, salt and tequila all blend well together, I can't help but to think that this one is closer in taste to a cocktail than a beer. The nose full of lime was a nice sensation.
