A stronger version of our Lost and Found Abbey Ale brewed to a more contemplative alcohol content. Massive in every stretch of the brewing way possible this is the sort of beer that will remind a beer drinker who considers themselves a saint that even saints stray as sinners from time to time.

750 ml bottle, into a tulip snifter. 2015 edition, had 10/8/16.

Pours a dark brown, opaque, with about a one inch head and a good amount of lacing, active carbonation. Smell is malt, Belgian yeast, raisins. caramel. some cola, light cherries and chocolate, light black pepper as it warms, spices- a little savory aroma. The taste also leads with the malt, then stronger chocolate than the nose, raisins, some figs, some caramel, dates, spices- the rosemary is more definable as it warms. Smooth, creamy, well carbonated, pretty full bodied for the style, alcohol well hidden.

Good flavor and aroma, a very good BSDA, but the rosemary and honey really don't show. And the rosemary is part of the allure. Well worth trying, but the price point is a little high for what you get.

Very disappointed with this beer. It's a strong dark ale with spices and Brett. The spices and Brett do not mingle well with this quadrupel. The Brett adds some slight sour notes which are not well received.

2016 vintage: "Dark Spiced Farmhouse Ale with Brett."

A little cinnamon and clove in the nose, with really fruity sweet notes, grape, as well. Pours a very hazy brown. Caramel color head and smell. Mild carbonation. Some spicy belgian yeast smell as well. Starts off spicy and yeasty, followed by raisin and honey toward the middle. Finish is hoppy, chewy, burnt caramel.

2016 Vintage, poured into a tulip glass.
L: A deep, opaque sable with a creamy, toffee colored head.
S: Belgian yeast and sweet caramel.
T: Figs, plums, and toffee.
F: Carbonation dances on the tongue.
O: A fine Belgian Strong Dark, age would do wonders.

Aroma is spices/cinnamon, malts and Belgian yeast. The flavor is Belgian yeast, malts, dark malts and a very spicy/mildly funky/slightly sour finish.

Opens with a moderate pop of the cork. Pours as dark as a quad, the color of strong black coffee with a long lasting but not very thick light tan head. Aroma: chocolate, alcohol, spices & hops. Flavor: chocolate, raisins, spices. Plenty of carbonation & alcohol burn on the tongue. A farmhouse ale in steroids.

2012 vintage; drank 5/13/14 @ the Palace.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Brown/purple hue.

Khaki head; strong lace.

Sherry & raisin nose.

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Sherry, green raisin, cinnamon, brown sugar & apple cider flavors; a bit too boozy still but nearing perfection...

2008 Bottle.

A: Moderate raisins, estery dark fruits, with slightly sweet dark roasted malts.

A: Super dark brown, almost black, slightly hazy, with a moderate off-white head that has solid retention, even after all these years.

T: Roasted malts, raisions, with estery dark fruits. There is some oxidation, but not offensive, with some light sherry, faint funk, and a dry finish.

M: Full bodied with moderately light carbonation.

O: Awesome; over the years the beer's slightly rougher edges have mellowed, the raisins blend seamlessly with the estery dark fruit and slightly sweet roasted malt notes. Delicious!
