Notes / Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Picked up a 750 ml bottle from TW Arrowhead 3-12-17 for $11.49. Vintage 2017 bottle.

Beer poured black as night with a beautiful brown head that has some great hang time.

Nose is light roasted malts with a touch of mocha.

Taste is a huge roasted malt base that blends very nicely with a generous hop addition to form a very easy drinking impy stout. No heat felt despite the high abv content.

Mouthfeel is full and smooth. Each sip is very satisfying.

Overall a very good beer that impy stout lovers will enjoy. Not sure why i had not tried this in the past but i do recommend this!

750 ml. bottle poured at 52° into a tulip. No date on the bottle.

Pitch black with two fingers of reddish head that are reduced to lacing within a few minutes.

Nose is huge. Alot going on. Chocolate-covered cherries and woody, earthy malts. Liquor, raisins, and smoke.

Flavor is lighter than expected. Balanced for an 11% stout. Big but not too intense. A cascade of dark chocolate, cherry, and plums. Cherry cola, earth, and anise. There's an aftertaste I can't really pinpoint though, maybe best described as soapiness. Not the best finish.

Mouthfeel is medium.

Overall, pretty good. Above average drinkability for an imperial stout, and fairly complex. But lacking some roundness on the finish - at least the bottle I have.

Pours dark and thick, with a creamy mocha-colored head and aromas of roasted malts, dark chocolate and french roast coffee. The feel is full, smooth and round on the tongue. The taste is rich with deep roasted malts, cocoa, coffee and a touch of vanilla balanced perfectly against the alcohol.

On tap at Bonds Tavern in West Orange. Pours a thick, viscous ebony hue with moderate frothing. Chewy aroma replete with hints of chocolate, cocoa and molasses. Not bad.
