a long forgotten bottle from 2010, or perhaps 2011.

cork popped and poured pitch black, thick and cold to an upland brewing goblet with a hint of a toffee colored short lasting, small bubbled head.

huge bourbon in the nose, very dark sugary syrup malts, hint of gingerbread and smoke.

super viscous, the carbonation hides til the beer hits your palate and sneaks out. sitting in the glass, it appears almost flat and this is far from the truth. sweet, not bitter.

big barrel character, toffee, dark sweet chocolate, big bourbon, dark cherries, this is such an incredible beer, its a taste explosion.

drinkable ? well, perhaps not, but one's plenty.

2013 vintage poured into a teku
A: jet black fully opaque with no head but a small brown lace ring around top of the liquid
S: bourbon, red wine, molasses, caramel, hint of raisin
T: bourbon forward, brown sugar, toffee, roasted coffee/cocoa
M: lacks a bit with almost no carb
Overall very impressive with booze hidden nicely from the aging process. Easily would buy again
